Abstract: A dual flow gas valve suitable for gas grills that allows a user to select the valve for use with gases of different heating values and to select one of a high flow position and a low flow position for each gas. The gas valve includes a body and an input passageway communicating with the body. In one embodiment, a rotational member in the body defines a first port communicating the input passageway with an interior chamber. The rotational member defines an additional passageway external to the rotational member. The rotational member may be rotated to a first position to activate high flow through the rotational member or may be rotated to a second position to activate the external, low flow, passageway.

Abstract: A food temperature probe having a skewer for inserting into a food product, a plurality of temperature sensors within the skewer that detect a temperature at each temperature sensor location of the food product, and a single connector communicatively coupled to the plurality of temperature sensors.

Abstract: A grate assembly for cooking food products and a grilling apparatus which uses the grate assembly for supporting the food during cooking. The grate assembly comprises: (a) a lower grate element having a series of parallel peak structures with valleys therebetween and (b) an upper grate element having a series of parallel food support ribs which are sized and spaced such that each rib will be positioned over the top of a corresponding peak structure. The upper food contacting surfaces of the ribs will remain substantially rust-free at atmospheric and cooking conditions.

A solid outer wall surrounds the inner wall to define a flow gap between the inner wall and outer wall. A top cover extends to enclose the smoking chamber and the flow gap from the top. Openings may be provided for air flow into and out of the device.

Abstract: A rotisserie having a first support structure with a rotisserie motor affixed thereto, the rotisserie motor having a receptacle for receiving a spit rod. A second support structure defines a slot for receiving the spit rod. The first and second support structures are mounted to side shelves on a grill on opposite sides of a cooking grate. The side shelves each define at least one mounting aperture for retaining the support structures in upright positions.

Abstract: An apparatus for cooking comprising a cooking cavity for receiving a food item and a burner positioned within a bottom portion of the cooking cavity for delivering a combustion gas in the cooking cavity which will flow upwardly to heat the vertically-extending interior surface of the cooking cavity. The upward flow of combustion gas within the heating cavity is operable for heating the vertically extending interior surface in a manner such that the food item positioned in the cooking cavity will be cooked at least predominantly by infrared radiation.

A plurality of vents is defined by an upper surface of the lids. The shelf and the right side of the grill body define a right retracting space. The shelf and the left side of the grill body define a left retracting space. The lids pivot outwards into the left and right retracting spaces to retracted positions wherein the uppermost portions of the lids and the uppermost surface of the grill body are substantially even with or below an upper surface of said shelf.

Abstract: A cooking apparatus and a cooking grate assembly therefor. The cooking grate assembly includes a food support grate which is positionable on a contoured emitter tray. The contoured emitter tray preferably has either a concave or a convex longitudinal shape. The food support grate is formed of a plurality of side-by-side food support ribs having bottoms which are shaped in a manner corresponding to the contoured shape of the emitter tray so that the bottoms of the ribs run longitudinally along the contoured upper surface of the emitter tray.

Abstract: An upright electric roaster and smoker having an air flow passage outside of, and adjacent to, the food heating chamber. The air flow passage has an upper inlet in the heating chamber so that air flows upwardly through the heating chamber from a bottom air inlet and subsequently flows downwardly through the air flow passage from the upper inlet of the passage to an outlet located in a lower portion of the passage.

The cooking grill has a firebox having a combustive heat source near the bottom therein, a cooking surface disposed along an upper portion of the firebox, and a convex intermediate element interposing the burner and the cooking surface, the intermediate element having an apex near the cooking surface and sides spaced apart from the cooking surface.
