  • Patent number: 7847515
Abstract: In a second preferred variant of the second exemplary embodiment, the magnetic sensor detects the presence of a magnetic field of the magnetic element as long as no battery is connected to the charger. The battery comprises a shielding device which deflects or shields the magnetic field from the magnetic sensor, so that after connecting the battery to the charger, the magnetic sensor detects that no magnetic field is present and emits an identification signal. This variant is advantageous, in particular in stepped contact devices, whereby one of the two elements is a sensor or magnet at the bottom of the step and the other of the two elements is arranged on the leg at an angle thereto. This makes it possible to achieve a particularly good shielding effect. In this variant, several magnetic elements and magnetic sensors may also be provided.

  • Patent number: 7771544
Abstract: A connecting device of a cleaning or care apparatus or a cleaning cassette comprises a blocking device which is movable between a first position and a second position and prevents loosening or displacement of an instrument that is to be cleaned during a cleaning or care operation because of the pressure exerted by the cleaning or care media. In some embodiments, a direct or indirect operative connection between the blocking device and a component of the cleaning or care apparatus or between the blocking device and at least a part of the cassette is provided, which transmits to the blocking device the force required to move the blocking device from the first position into the second position. In other embodiments, the blocking device is moved from the first position into the second position by the action of the media in the line, e.g., either by direct contact with the media or indirectly through contact with another intermediate element.

  • Patent number: 7588559
Abstract: An intraosseous injection device includes a tool having a distal portion, a proximal portion, and a solution dispensing opening. The distal portion has one or more cutting surfaces. The tool can be coupled with a protective carrier. The tool can be rotatably coupled to a tool actuation mechanism. A housing has a distal end and a proximal end. The housing releasably receives a solution cartridge containing a solution. A solution dispensing mechanism dispenses solution from the solution cartridge. A gripping member grips a proximal portion of the tool. A rotation device rotates the gripping member and thereby rotates the tool about an axis. The proximal portion of the tool connects directly to the solution cartridge such that solution from the cartridge can be delivered through the solution dispensing opening. The tool is configured to rotate relative to the solution cartridge.

  • Patent number: 7575432
Abstract: The invention concerns a handpiece for a surgical or dental tool (3), which can be inserted in the head of the handpiece (1) through an insertion hole (14) into a tool holder (2) and is rotationally supported by means of two axially separated bearings (12, 13), with positive torque transmission (8) to the tool (3) by the drive (9) installed in the handpiece, such that the tool possibly has a longitudinal bore (6) for supplying cooling liquid to the work site, and the handpiece (1) possibly has a short, fixed feed tube (7), which extends into the longitudinal bore and is sealed from the tool (3). To increase the torque that can be transmitted, the invention is characterized by the fact that the torque transmission (8) occurs in the region of the bearing (13) that is adjacent to the insertion hole (14). The invention also concerns the development of suitable tools.

  • Patent number: 6916176
Abstract: A rotation locking device located in the area of two separate, independent shafts or shaft sections for preventing the undesired rotation of a shaft or shaft section. The rotation locking device includes a locking pin which, in its idle position (during operation of the appliance), rests on a displacement surface of a shaft or shaft section. In the event of the undesired rotation of a shaft (caused, for example, when a tool is being unscrewed from a coupling which is connected to the shafts), the shaft underneath the locking pin turns until the pin is forced out of the displacement surface, is displaced outwards radially and pressed against a component which is fixed to the body of the appliance (e.g. the bearing sleeve of the gearbox in which the rotation locking device is fitted). Any further rotation of the shafts is prevented in this manner.
