Abstract: A lock bolt designed to mount in a door jamb, and designed for use in applications such as penal institutions. The lock bolt has two warped surfaces that are exposed to a closing door. The door contacts the first warped surface along a length of that surface, forcing the lock bolt back into a housing. The two warped surfaces are designed such that the door never contacts the second surface. Therefore, the design allows for greater protrusion and greater width of the lock bolt.
