Abstract: Polyvinyl acetate polymers produced by mass polymerization or suspension polymerization are stabilized against blocking by addition of minor amounts of a silicon oxide compound during the pelletization process of mass polymerized polymers and prior to or during fluidized bed drying in the case of suspension polymerized polymers. The free flowing polymers are suitable for use as chewing gum bases, and for other uses.

Abstract: Polyvinyl acetals which contain acetal moieties derived by acetalizing polyvinyl alcohol with both aliphatic aldehydes or their derivatives and with amino- and/or ammonium-substituted aldehydes display exceptional substrate adhesion when used in printing ink as binders, allowing inks without adhesion promoters to be produced.
Abstract: Use of water redispersible polymer powders stabilized with a protective colloid as a thermoplastic binder for natural particulate materials allows thermoplastic processing such as extrusion, without formation of bubbles due to moisture present, and while maintaining physical properties.
Abstract: Polyvinyl acetals with unsaturated acetal units are obtained by means of acetalization of partly hydrolysed or fully hydrolysed vinyl ester polymers having >50 mol % of vinyl alcohol units with one or more saturated, aliphatic aldehydes and one or more unsaturated, acyclic aliphatic aldehydes, the aldehydes optionally used in the form of their hemiacetals or full acetals.
Abstract: Polyvinyl acetals prepared by acetalizing a hydrolyzed polyvinyl acetate homo- or copolymer with at least one of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, or butyraldehyde are low profile additives in unsaturated polyester molding resins which still provide a uniform pigment distribution in molded parts.
Abstract: Redispersible polymer powders which are cationically stabilized by spray drying a polymer dispersion with a cationic polymer can be used in higher concentrations in chemical building construction materials without introducing adverse properties.

Abstract: The invention relates to water-redispersible polymer powder compositions containing from 0.1 to 70% by weight of one or more fatty acid anhydrides, based on the total weight of the polymer powder composition, and the use of these powders in hydraulically setting systems.
Abstract: Polyvinyl esters in the form of solid resins are obtained by free-radically initiated suspension polymerization, characterized in that the solid resin for a weight-average molecular weight Mw of <300,000 has a polydispersity PD of ?5 and for a weight-average molecular weight Mw of 300,000 to 1,500,000 has a polydispersity PD of ?10.
Abstract: The invention provides homogeneous compositions in solid form comprising a) from 50 to 90% by weight of polyvinyl acetate and b) from 10 to 50% by weight of vinyl acetate-vinyl laurate copolymer, the weight percentages based on the total weight of the composition.
