Patent number: 5314116Abstract: A pulsator, adapted for use in irrigation and other systems requiring the uniform discharge of water or other liquids in intermittent pulses and at regular frequencies, comprises a casing having an expansible elastomeric tube disposed therein. The tube is adapted to be exposed to pressurized liquid for movement between contracted and expanded conditions of operation for controlling the intermittent opening of a valve, formed in part by the tube. A flow control, located at the inlet to the pulsator, functions to modulate the pressure of the incoming liquid to control the flow rate of the liquid communicated to an expansible chamber defined in part by the tube. When the pressure in the chamber exceeds a predetermined level, the valve will open to intermittently discharge pulses of liquid to a distributor, such as an irrigation sprayer. The pulsator is preferably structured to insure continuous communication of liquid from the inlet to the pulsator to the chamber.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 1993Date of Patent: May 24, 1994Assignee: Wade Manufacturing Co.Inventors: Richard G. Patent number: 5253807Abstract: An emitter has a plurality of circumferentially disposed fittings releasably connected thereon. A pressure-compensated flow control valve is mounted in at least some of the fittings and the control valves have varied flow rates. A plug is inserted into outlets from the emitter not having a fitting/control valve mounted therein. The emitter is adapted to replace a standard sprinkler head of a sprinkler circuit to provide the circuit with both sprinkler and micro-irrigation capabilities.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1992Date of Patent: October 19, 1993Assignee: Wade Manufacturing Co.Inventor: Edward H. Patent number: 4960584Abstract: A system for heap leach mining comprises supply and header pipes for conducting a leaching solution alongside a bed or "heap" of crushed metal-laden ore deposited on an impervious pad. A series of spaced tubes are connected to the supply and header pipes to extend transversely thereof, over the pad, to receive the leaching solution therefrom. A plurality of emitters are connected in spaced relationship along each of the tubes for emitting the leaching solution at a controlled and substantially uniform rate over the pad and into the ore bed. At least some of the emitters are adjustable whereby different sets of flow passages can be utilized. The adjustable emitter comprises a sleeve slip-fit and rotatably mounted in a housing for rotative adjustment between at least two positions to alternately communicate the sets of flow passages with an inlet to the emitter.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1988Date of Patent: October 2, 1990Assignee: Wade Manufacturing Co.Inventor: Sidney L. Patent number: 4846406Abstract: A micro flow control valve is interconnected between a main water line and a water distributing device, such as a mini sprayer. The interchangeable flow control valve is adapted to maintain a predetermined near constant micro flow rate of water to the distributing device within the approximate range of from 2.0 gph to 60.0 gph despite fluctuations in water pressure in the main water line. The control valve comprises a pin having at least one open-top channel defined at an outer surface thereof and a flexible diaphragm at least partially covering the channel. In operation, main line water pressure communicated to the control valve will function to flex the diaphragm into the channel to maintain such predetermined near constant micro flow rate in response to a variable pressure differential produced across the diaphragm.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1987Date of Patent: July 11, 1989Assignee: Wade Manufacturing Co.Inventor: Mark H. Patent number: 4832607Abstract: A watering system display stand comprises a display panel having a variety of garden plants graphically displayed thereon and a watering system, including a plurality of authentic interconnected irrigation components, mounted on the display panel to visually portray a typical mock, instructional watering system for the garden plants. A plurality of trays are mounted vertically below the display panel to retain corresponding irrigation components therein for purchase by a consumer. The trays are numerically coded to match corresponding codes imprinted adjacent to corresponding irrigation components mounted on the display panel. Rolls of porting and drip tubing are mounted on the display stand, below the trays. The trays are formed from suitably scored paperboard blanks that are folded to form interlocked panels.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1988Date of Patent: May 23, 1989Assignee: Wade Manufacturing Co.Inventor: Paul L.
