    Abstract: An anchor device is provided which makes it possible to fasten various members or instruments to a wall to the back of which hands cannot reach with a bolt. The anchor device includes an inserting member molded of a synthetic resin, a nut mounted to the tip of the inserting member, and a tubular seating member mounted on the inserting member. The inserting member has a bag-like portion integrally formed at the tip of an elongated trough-like trunk portion having a semicircular section through a bendable portion. The nut, which has a semicircular section, is received in the bag-like portion. By inserting the anchor device into a hole formed in a wall member, it fixes an article to be fastened by use of a bolt.

    Abstract: A boring tool is proposed which has a cutting portion at one end thereof, a driver engaging portion at the other end thereof, a shank arranged between the cutting portion and the driver engaging portion. The shank is formed with a helical groove for discharging cuttings. The driver engaging portion has a hexagonal outer shape and is formed with a hexagonal hole and a recess at bottom of the hexagonal hole for receiving the tip of a driver. The cutting portion has a pointed tip and a substantially conical shape, a first recess formed by cutting off substantially a 180° section of the cutting portion as seen axially from the pointed tip with an edge in the rotational direction forming a cutting edge, and a second recess formed by cutting off substantially a 90° section of the remaining 180° section. The second recess is separated from the first recess by a thin-walled partitioning wall.

    Abstract: A plate nut assembly is provided in which a protrusion provided on a nut has a centering guide function relative to a circular hole so that the protrusion reliably fits in the circular hole to prevent displacement of the nut assembly, even if an external force is applied in a direction perpendicular to an axis of a bolt threaded to the nut. Around an entrance of a threaded hole on one side of the nut, of such a dimension so as to be received within a circular hole formed beforehand in a wall or the like, at a position where the nut is inserted into the hole, the protrusion is formed so that height of the protrusion decreases in a direction away from the threaded hole. A recess having substantially the same outer shape as that of the protrusion is formed around the threaded hole on another side of the nut. The recess has opposed end walls that are inclined such that a distance between the opposed end walls decreases in a direction toward a bottom of the recess.

    Abstract: A nut assembly is proposed for fastening an instrument or the like to a member, the back of which is not accessible. A nut assembly comprises a pivotable nut having a threaded through-hole and a pin on each side thereof, and a frame having a flange portion formed with a bolt hole and an opposed pair of arms extending from both sides of the flange portion. The arms are each formed with an elongated hole, and the nut is formed at one end thereof with an inclined guide surface for pivoting the nut when pushed by a bolt. The nut is pivotably and slidably mounted between the arms with the pins received in the elongated holes formed in the arms. The arms have free end portions bent inwardly at an angle. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent the nut from coming off the arms.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a nail efficiently at low cost without a loss of material. The nail includes two legs bound together by a washer. One of the legs has a protrusion such that when the other leg is driven, it will spread by riding on the protrusion. In this method, a round rod stock is pressed except a portion thereof to form a head at one thereof, a trunk portion having a semicircular section with a flat surface between the head and the portion, and a tip portion at the other end of the rod stock. The portion forms the protrusion. The one of the legs is thus formed. The protrusion may be formed by pressing the rod from both sides.

    Abstract: A nut assembly is provided which has a pivotable nut having both sides thereof increased in wall thickness to impart strength and thereby to prevent breakage of the nut upon tightening of a bolt. The nut assembly includes a nut having pivot pins about which the nut is pivotable, and a frame having a flange formed with a bolt hole and a pair of arms provided on both sides of the flange. A pair of hanging walls extending in the bolt inserting direction are provided around the bolt hole at two opposing positions on an imaginary plane perpendicular to a line connecting the pins. This makes it possible to narrow the width of the guide hole of the nut in which the hanging walls are received by an amount by which the banging walls have narrowed. By this arrangement, the wall thickness of both sides of the nut is increased.

    Abstract: A coupling tool for a double wall is proposed which makes it possible to join an inner and an outer wall together without selecting places while ensuring a sufficient joint strength. The coupling tool is formed by an anchor formed by superposing two metallic plates so as to be spreadable, and a wire of a required length mounted to one end of the anchor. The wire is fixed to the anchor so as to protrude from an end opposite to the tip of the anchor. Since the anchor can be driven into the inner wall at any position, the outer wall can be fixed to the inner wall by use of the coupling tool without selecting places and number.

One of the blocks is formed with a threaded hole into which a bolt is adapted to be threaded and string holes. At least one string member is passed through the string holes. The block assembly has an arrangement for preventing each block from pivoting in a first direction from a straight position, in which the block assembly is arranged in a straight line, and allowing each block to pivot in a second direction opposite to the first direction from the straight position.

The nut is further formed with a threaded hole extending therethrough between the second opposed pair of longitudinal sides. To package such nut assemblies, a resilient package formed with elongated grooves having a width smaller than the distance between the second opposed pair of longitudinal sides of the nut is prepared, and a plurality of nut assemblies are pushed into the grooves of the package.

    Abstract: A plate-shaped fastener is driven obliquely into a wall member. When driving is complete, a member is superposed on the wall member, and a screw inserted through the member is threaded into the wall member. When the screw penetrates through the wall, it is threaded into the plate-shaped fastener. When the screw is tightened, the portion of the plate-shaped fastener protruding to the back of the wall is pulled against the back of the wall member, so that this portion of the plate-shaped fastener is bent and superposed on the back of the wall member. Thus, the member is securely fastened to the wall member with the wall member sandwiched between the member and the plate-shaped fastener. Also, a jig for driving the plate-shaped fastener is proposed which comprises a plate holder portion and a positioning plate portion.

    Abstract: A plate-shaped fastener is used to secure a member or an instrument to a wall of plasterboard so constructed as to be not accessible to its back. A driving portion with a pointed tip and an extension are integrally formed from a single bendable thin metal plate. A cut is formed in the thin metal plate to form the driving portion and the extension. The driving portion is driven into the wall and pulled back against one side of the wall and the extension is bent and pressed against the other side of the wall to sandwich the wall between the driving portion and the extension. A screw is then driven through the member, extension, wall and the driving portion to secure the member to the wall.

    Abstract: An anchor has a hollow shank having a head at one end and an integral blade portion at the other end and formed with male threads on the outer periphery. Cuts are formed in a peripheral wall of the hollow shank to define therebetween a bendable portion adapted to bend when pushed out by a mounting screw driven into the hollow shank. The blade portion is substantially semicylindrical with side edges defining cutting edges. Ribs for inclining the mounting screw are formed on the inner surfaces of the blade portion and the hollow shaft, respectively. When a mounting screw is driven through the article into the anchor to fix an article to the board, the mounting screw is inclined relative to the anchor, so that the bendable portion is pushed out, thus preventing the anchor from rotating together with the screw.

    Abstract: A method of safely hanging and moving an ALC block can be carried out at a construction site at a low cost. Holes are formed in the top surface of an ALC block. Starting holes are formed, with anchor being in the bottoms of the respective holes. Anchors are formed each made up of three metallic plates superposed one on another and having a first and a second end. The metallic plates are joined together at the first end. Each anchor has a hole at the first end. The anchors are driven into the respective starting holes and into the ALC block with the second end first while spreading apart the outer metallic plates so that the anchors will not be easily pulled out. The hanger tools are engaged in the holes formed in the anchors to hang and move the ALC block.

The trunk has two rib portions defined on both sides of the groove-shaped portion. When a screw is driven into the plug with the plug inserted in a starting hole formed through an article to be fastened and a building material, the portion of the trunk where the composite hole is formed is expanded uniformly. Thus, the threads on the screw will bite the trunk over the entire length thereof irrespective of the kind of building material, so that the screw can be fastened securely.

    Abstract: A nail with spreadable legs has legs that can be spread apart by a constant angle irrespective of the hardness of the ALC material into which the nail is driven. The nail has two leg members bound together by a washer with their flat sides abutting each other. One of the leg members has a protrusion on its respective flat surface near its tip. A projection and a recess are formed on the flat surfaces of the respective leg members. With the leg members bound by the washer, the projection engages in the recess near the washer. When the nail is driven in to a predetermined depth, the projection disengages from the recess, so that the legs begin to spread apart. It is thus possible to control the spread angle of the leg members.
