Abstract: A training wheel assembly for children's bicycles includes an elongated bracket having a lower portion adapted to adjustably mount a training wheel, and an upper portion formed with multiple, vertically spaced hexagon-shaped apertures each adapted to receive the rear wheel axle of the bicycle. A brace arm is provided to assist in carrying torque applied to the bracket, and includes a hexagon-shaped projection at one end adapted to releasably lock within the hexagon-shaped apertures of the bracket, and a pair of spaced fingers at the other end adapted to mount to a frame member of the bicycle. The angular position of the brace arm relative to the bracket is adjustable so that the spaced fingers of the brace arm may be positioned to mount over and embracingly engage the rear fork member of varying configurations of forks of bicycles.

Abstract: A handlebar stem assembly is provided for securing the handlebars to the frame of a motocross bicycle consisting of top and bottom plates formed with arcuate grooves to receive and secure the handlebars therebetween. The bottom plate is welded to a stem which attaches to the bicycle frame, and at least one generally arcuate shaped relief opening is formed in the bottom plate adjacent its welded connection to the stem for reducing the stress concentration at such connection.

Abstract: A bicycle basket with a novel connector bracket that permits the basket to be mounted on two different types of rear carrier racks. With a first type of carrier rack the novel bracket permits one end of the basket to be easily and quickly assembled with the rack simply by inserting a tongue attached to the rack in a slot provided in the bracket. With a second type of carrier rack, the basket's novel bracket is pivoted to an alternate position, the bracket being connected to the rack through use of a separate fastener, e.g., a bolt.

Abstract: The fork tube and wedge nut of a bicycle stem and fork tube assembly are provided with complementary, non-circular, interengaging abutment areas which substantially enhance and augment the frictional locking relationship between a conventional wedge nut and fork tube by which a stem is secured to a fork tube.

Abstract: A bicycle handlebar stem is provided with a throat which is in open communication with the loop thereof in which the central, knurled portion of a handlebar is received. The width of the throat is sufficiently wide to accommodate the passage of the transverse strut or brace bar disposed in spanning relationship with, and between, the risers of a handlebar while the loop of the stem is advanced along the handlebar riser toward the central, knurled portion thereof.
