  • Publication number: 20030070379
Abstract: An attachment element for use with a concrete wall construction that includes a layer of concrete and a layer of an insulative material that is held against a face of the layer of concrete. The attachment element includes an elongated body member having a first portion that is adapted and arranged for embedment in the layer of concrete as the latter hardens and a second portion that is positioned longitudinally of the body member from the first portion. The second portion is adapted and arranged so as to extend outwardly from the face of the concrete and through a closed slot formed in the layer of insulative material. The attachment element also includes an elongated face plate that is attached to the second portion of the body member adjacent an outer end of the latter.

  • Patent number: 6523323
Abstract: A form assembly is constructed from a plurality of wall panels joined in side by side relationship by interposed adapters. The adapters have end plates in which reliefs are formed to accommodate alignment walers that extend along the top and bottom of the form assembly to maintain planar alignment of the form assembly. The reliefs allow the walers to be recessed so that they do not extend beyond the horizontal plane of the top and bottom of the wall panels. The form assembly is used to create a form in which concrete is poured to create a concrete wall, such as a foundation wall for a house. Because the form assembly can be installed and removed as a single piece rather than multiple individual wall panels, the time required to erect and remove the form is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6513785
Abstract: A deck forming system is utilized for forming and supporting concrete decks. The deck forming system includes deck panels extending between deck beams which are supported by a jack post assembly. Flat bars are used to join the deck beams to a header supported by a jack post in the jack post assembly. Fasteners such as pins and wedges removably secure the flat bars to the ends of the deck beams and the header so that the deck beams can be removed while the jack post and header remain in place to support the poured concrete deck until it reaches a predetermined strength.

  • Patent number: 5987830
Abstract: An insulated concrete wall is constructed by securing at least one tie assembly (14) to a panel (12) of insulative material, securing the tie assembly and panel to a pair of spaced forms (60, 68), and pouring concrete into an open space defined by the forms adjacent the panel. The concrete is then allowed to set, and the forms are removed. The tie assembly (14) includes an elongated tie (16) having a central region (24) adapted to remain in place in the wall subsequent to construction and a pair of opposing end regions (26, 28) adapted to be detached after removal of the forms. In addition, the assembly (14) includes an elongated retainer body (18) formed of heat insulative material and received on the tie (16), and a pair of face plates (20, 22) retained on the body on either side of the panel (12).
