Abstract: An arrangement for use in a liquid treatment unit, which includes a generally tubular housing having a liquid inlet in one end and a liquid outlet in the opposite end, a generally tubular filter element arranged generally concentric inside the housing, through which liquid is fed from outside the filter to inside the filter, an elongated UV-generating element arranged inside the filter element, whose longitudinal direction generally corresponds to that of the filter element, material displaying catalytic properties and radiated by UV-light arranged on at least the inner surfaces of the filter element. The elongated UV-generating element extends a further distance than the generally tubular filter element, which extension is positioned adjacent the outlet, wherein the further distance ensures the flow of liquid, that has passed through the filter element, to flow a certain minimum distance along the elongated UV-generating element, thereby exposing the flow of liquid to UV-light.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for treating fluids, characterised in the steps of radiating the fluid with UV light, producing and dispersing gas bubbles in the fluid in the rays of the UV light, in order to increase the scattering of the UV light in the liquid. The invention also relates to a device for performing the method.

Abstract: A device for treatment of fluids, includes a treatment chamber having an inlet and an outlet for the fluid to be treated, elongated UV light generating elements arranged inside the treatment chamber, a photo-catalytic structure arranged in the treatment chamber. The photo-catalytic structure is a filter arranged in the flow of fluid through the treatment chamber such that the fluid flows through the filter. The filter is designed generally tubular and placed adjacent and surrounding the UV light generating elements for radiating the filter with UV light, thereby creating treatment radicals, and the filter is placed such that the whole flow of fluid is forced through the radiated filter.

Abstract: A device for a liquid treatment unit includes a UV generating element, arranged inside a compartment, which compartment is arranged in a liquid treatment enclosure, which enclosure is arrange with an inlet and an outlet, wherein the compartment includes UV light permeable material, and wherein the liquid to be treated surrounds the compartment. The invention is characterised in that the device includes a mechanical cleaning element arranged to and capable of cleaning outer surface of the compartment when the unit is in operation.
