Patents Assigned to Walter Becker
  • Patent number: 5060405
Abstract: A bucket loader wherein the bucket is pivotally mounted at one end of an arm. The other end of the arm is pivotably connected to the locomotive of a multiple-trolley train which is mounted for travel along an overhead monorail in a surface mine or in an underground excavation. The bucket can be tilted by two chains each of which is connected to a winch on a discrete trolley of the train.

  • Patent number: 4670623
Abstract: A pressurized cabin for temporary or permanent confinement of electrical equipment in mines has one or more octagonal units and two sidewalls flanking the unit or units. Each unit is assembled of four sections each having a longer panel and a shorter panel, as considered in the circumferential direction of the respective unit, and the two panels of each section make an acute angle. The marginal portions of all sections are provided with borders which extend into the interior of the respective unit and are secured to each other, to the neighboring units and/or to the sidewalls by screws or bolts and nuts. Two of the longer panels in each unit are horizontal and the other two longer panels are vertical. The shorter panels have openings for the passage of pneumatic or hydraulic conduits and/or one or more electric cables. Such shorter panels can carry pressure relief and/or pressure reducing valves, or they can be connected to columns which mount the respective unit of a platform.

  • Patent number: 4546707
Abstract: A rail-mounted conveyance wherein two undercarriages support a superstructure. One of the undercarriages is movable with reference to the superstructure about three axes including a substantially horizontal X-axis extending in the direction of travel of the conveyance, a substantially horizontal Y-axis which extends transversely of the direction of travel of the conveyance, and a substantially vertical Z-axis which is normal to the other two axes. Movements about the X-axis are made possible by providing the one undercarriage with a transverse axle which defines the Y-axis and carries a block having a convex top surface sloping from the center toward both sides of the one undercarriage, and by providing the superstructure with a platform having a flat underside which abuts against and can roll along the convex surface. The line of contact between the block and the platform defines the first axis.

  • Patent number: 4172523
Abstract: An applicator for use in connection with a retaining ring supply, which comprises a plurality of retaining rings detachably connected to each other so as to form a strip. The applicator is in the form of a sheath having a flat passage therethrough extending in the longitudinal direction of the sheath and being dimensioned to slidably receive and guide therethrough a strip of retaining rings. The strip has at least one window in at least one of its wide sides, which window leads from the outside surface of the sheath into the flat passage and is so dimensioned as to permit a finger, for instance, a thumb of a person to pass through said window easily and to engage a strip of retaining rings in said sheath to selectively advance the same by one ring at a time, so as to have one ring at a time project from one end of the applicator.
