  • Patent number: 5621956
Abstract: An apparatus for inserting the legs of an L-shaped corner member into corresponding channels of elongated flange members used in an assembly for connecting the adjacent ends of sheet metal ducts. The apparatus, in a preferred form, comprises a base member that is adapted to receive a first flange member in a receiving position. A first corner positioning member is attached to the base member and is adapted to position a leg of an L-shaped corner member in confronting relationship with the channel of a first flange member. First insertion apparatus is attached to the positioning member for selectively inserting the positioned leg into the channel of the first flange member a predetermined distance. A second corner positioning member is attached to the base member for orienting an end of a second flange member in confronting relationship with respect to the other leg of the L-shaped corner member.

  • Patent number: 4259918
Abstract: A traction wheel motion sensor for endless conveyors which is self-cleaning of foreign matter that may enter the traction wheel housing and is spring biased toward the associated conveyor. A traction wheel housing located adjacent a moving conveyor engages the conveyor for sensing the rate of linear displacement thereof, and the wheel drives motion sensing apparatus through a belt. The housing includes a bottom surface which is obliquely oriented to the horizontal wherein foreign matter entering the housing is automatically discharged therefrom and further, the traction wheel is mounted upon apparatus biased toward the conveyor by spring means wherein the traction wheel maintains an operative driven relationship with the conveyor during conveyor operation.

  • Patent number: 4195291
Abstract: An electronic sensor for detecting motion and the rate of motion, particularly rotative movement, utilizes digital control apparatus wherein pulses are transmitted to a digital counter at a rate proportional to the rate of rotation of the member being sensed, and the pulses are compared with a time reference signal to produce a control sequence for comparing the pulses to predetermined set point values wherein an alarm or control signal is produced if the rate of rotation of the member sensed deviates between predetermined set points. The pulses being sensed are produced by an infrared light passing through a light shutter mounted upon the rotating member being sensed wherein the rate of pulsation of the light passing through the shutter is directly related to the rate of shutter rotation, and the pulses are sensed by electronic means producing a control signal.

  • Patent number: 4119055
Abstract: The invention pertains to apparatus for sensing the motion of endless conveyors. A housing, on which a traction wheel having a high friction periphery is rotatably mounted, is located adjacent the moving conveyor member to be sensed, and the housing includes an open end through which a portion of the wheel periphery extends for engagement with the moving member. The wheel rotates a shaft which is belted to the input shaft of a motion sensor, preferably of the electrical type, mounted upon the housing. In one embodiment of the invention the traction wheel is adjustably mounted upon the housing whereby adjustment of the wheel to the moving member is facilitated. In another embodiment the wheel housing is of an elongated configuration utilizing a mounting bracket which may be affixed to the housing at the desired position to accommodate the dimensions of the particular installation.
