Abstract: A process for preparing a 2-(pyridin-4-ylamino)-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine of Formula II comprising reacting a 4-aminopyridine of the formula with an alkali metal amide or hydride and a 2-alkylsulfanyl-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine of Formula I wherein R1, R2, R? and R?, and aryl are as defined in the specification.
