    Abstract: In an aspect, a door control system is provided for a vehicle door and includes a pushrod and a locking device. The pushrod has a first end connected to one of the vehicle body and the vehicle door. At least a portion of the locking device is mounted to the other of the vehicle body and the vehicle door. The locking device includes a leadscrew, a leadscrew nut mounted on the leadscrew, a housing including a guide path, and a brake. The pushrod has a second end connected to the leadscrew nut. The leadscrew nut is constrained against rotation but is slideable along the guide path by movement of the pushrod, which causes rotation of the leadscrew. The brake is positionable in a braking position in which the brake prevents rotation of the leadscrew, and a release position in which the brake permits rotation of the leadscrew.

    Abstract: In an aspect, a kit of parts is provided for a check arm keeper, which includes a keeper housing having a mounting bracket and a cartridge-mounting portion, and a plunger cartridge that includes a plunger cartridge housing mountable to the keeper housing, a plunger slidable in the plunger cartridge housing, and a plunger-biasing member positioned in the plunger cartridge housing to urge the plunger out from the plunger cartridge housing. The plunger has a first engagement member and the plunger cartridge housing has a second engagement member. The engagement members cooperate to retain the plunger in the plunger cartridge housing against a biasing force of the plunger-biasing member when the plunger cartridge is free from the keeper housing. Mounting of the plunger cartridge housing holds it in a selected position relative to the keeper housing and drives the plunger to a position in which the engagement members are spaced apart.

    Abstract: A hinge assembly for use with a pivotally movable closure panel is operable to provide a counterbalancing force to lock or hold the closure panel in an open configuration against a predetermined threshold closure force without the need of separate support components such as gas-charged struts or prop rod. The hinge assembly is provided with upper and lower hinge arms which are pivotally connected towards their rearward ends for movement relative to each other for pivotal movement about a hinge pivot axis. A generally elongated or guide slot is formed in the lower hinge arm. A prop arm is pivotally secured at a first end to a forward portion of the upper hinge arm forwardly from the hinge pivot axis. A sliding member is secured toward the second other end of the prop arm and engages the guide slot so as to be reciprocally movable therealong as the hinge arms are moved between a fully closed and fully open positions. The guide slot includes an operational section and an engaged section.
