Abstract: A device for limiting the flow rate of a liquid generally includes a tubular and rotation-symmetrical housing with an inlet opening and an outlet opening for the liquid. A substantially rotation-symmetrical first body is guided for axial displacement and urged toward the inlet opening by a spring. The first body includes a widest peripheral part located at a distance from an inner wall of the housing. An annular second body is disposed in a stationary position on the inner wall of the housing. As liquid flow increases through the device, the first body moves toward the second body while reducing a passage size of a gap defined between the first body and the second body.
