Abstract: The invention relates to a radiocommunication module (2), of the type cooperating with a SIM card (1) in the form of at least one first SIM Application Toolkit dialogue. According to the invention, said module also cooperates with third item of equipment (3) and comprises means (21) to convert said at least one first dialogue, between said SIM card and said module, into at least one second dialogue, between said module and said third item of equipment, such that said SIM card controls said third item of equipment via said module.
Abstract: The invention relates to an autonomous device that is used to handle an electronic component (1), comprising a body (2) and head (3) for picking up said component (1) magnetically. Moreover, the aforementioned pick-up head (3) comprises a permanent magnet (4) and mechanical separation means which can move in relation to one another such that the device can occupy at least two positions, namely: a pick-up position, in which the magnet (4) interacts with the component (1) so as to keep said component in contact with a contact surface of the head (3); and a release position, in which the magnet (4) is moved away from the component (1) such as to stop the magnetic interaction.
Abstract: The invention concerns a cellular radio telephone signal comprising a symmetrical two-way main channel, including a main uplink and a main downlink, in particular transmitting low or medium speed data and signalling and control data, and comprising at least one additional channel solely assigned to the downlink, transmitting in particular, high speed data transmission. At one given time, all or part of said supplementary channel transmission capacity can be dynamically allocated to a particular mobile station. Information for retrieving data intended for a particular mobile station and carried by said supplementary channel can be transmitted among said main downlink signalling and control data.
Abstract: A cellular communication system is provided comprising a terminal, a base station (for example UMTS) and a communication equipment designed to transmit data to a terminal and which is not provided with an uplink channel (for example using an OFDM technique). By transmitting via the TCP channel data other than those for controlling the power of the receiver base station, the terminal can control the power of the OFDM system transmitting high speed data to the terminal, the OFDM system being coupled to the UMTS network with which the terminal communicates.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for recovering target speech from mixed signals, which include the target speech and noise observed in a real-world environment, based on split spectra using sound sources' locational information.
Abstract: An RF filter includes elongate radiator elements constructed from printed circuit board (PCB) materials and using PCB fabrication techniques. The radiator elements are spacedly disposed and contained within a shielded enclosure. The filter apparatus has input and output leads exterior to the filter to pass a signal to be filtered. The filter is tuned by the shape and of the elongate radiator elements and shielded enclose and by conductive leads extending from the shielded enclosure toward the elongate radiator elements. The shape and number of the conductive lead elements may be varied to control RF coupling between radiator elements and the tuning of the filter.
Abstract: Apparatus for and method of processing received signals for use with multiple antenna spatial diversity receivers used in a digital communications system. The receiver has received signal phase modulator apparatus for each diversity received signal. The phase modulator provides a two state phase perturbation of zero or pi radians, based on the carrier frequency, which is switched to modulate the phase of the received signal for a fifty percent duty cycle over a symbol period.
Abstract: A digital signal is organized in consecutive data trains each comprising a predetermined number of successive symbols, each of said data trains comprising at least two distinct reference blocks for the estimation of said channel, distributed among the useful symbols representing the source signal to be transmitted, each of said reference blocks being formed by at least one reference symbol known to the receiver and/or identifiable by said receiver. The reference symbols present in the reference blocks may be explicit reference symbols that are fixed and known a priori by said receiver and/or implicit reference symbols produced by the links generated between the useful symbols by an encoding operation. Also disclosed are channel estimation methods implementing an estimation-maximization algorithm and/or using a combination of predetermined basic functions, with a bandwidth greater than or equal to the Doppler power spectrum of said signal.
Abstract: A filter described which includes helical resonator elements constructed using printed circuit board (PCB) materials and fabrication techniques. A helical resonator element is formed from conductive traces on either side of a double sided PCB substrate with interconnection of the traces using plated through holes to form a three dimensional serpentine or helical conductor path. Multiple resonator elements are RF coupled using ferromagnetic coupling elements. The shape and number of the coupling elements may be selected to control RF coupling between resonator elements and the tuning of the filter.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a waveguide band reject filter employing TEM coaxial type resonators that partially protrude into the top wall of the waveguide in such a way as to produce a predetermined frequency selective discontinuity. By proper choice of location, number of resonators, resonator configuration and protrusion, a spurious free highly efficient frequency selective band reject filter response can be obtained.
Abstract: A solenoid is disclosed which uses a plastic coil bobbin as the bearing surface for the armature, the body of which extends coaxially through the central cylindrical cavity of the bobbin. Extending into this cavity, from the end opposite the armature, is a plug which is rigidly fixed to the bobbin by an outer housing that surrounds the bobbin and has a skirt which captures a flanged end of the plug. A plunger that extends through an axial bore in the plug floats freely, coaxially of the bobbin. The interior end of the plunger has an enlarged head that is received within a bore in the armature body. A bias spring is situated between this plunger head and a counterbore in the plug.
