Abstract: An improved anchor fitting assembly that provides a connecting seat leg member with a degree of freedom of movement thereby allowing for greater load carrying capability. The anchor fitting includes a substantially spherically shaped housing with a bolt-receiving channel therethrough that rotatably engages a bolting member. Also, the anchor fitting is cast as a single-body which makes it relatively simple and economical to construct.
Abstract: A lavatory system suitable for use on a commercial passenger aircraft includes a toilet bowl for receiving waste and a waste-holding tank in fluid communication with the toilet bowl for receiving waste from the toilet bowl. A flapper valve is provided in the bottom of the toilet bowl and operates to control the passage of the toilet bowl contents into the waste-holding tank. Water, which may be from the potable water supply system, is directed into the toilet bowl to wash the sides of the toilet bowl and to assist in moving waste material to the waste-holding tank. A water inlet valve controls the introduction of water into the toilet bowl by actuation of a flushing switch. The water is introduced into the toilet bowl through a single nozzle which moves and progressively directs the flow of the water onto the entire interior of the toilet bowl in such a manner that a minimal amount of water is utilized per flush.
Abstract: A stowable table system for use with a compartment in a vehicle seat, or the like, comprises a pivot block mounted for pivotal movement with respect to the compartment and a pivot stud mounted for pivotal movement in the pivot block and, in turn, mounting a table base that attaches a table structure for pivotal movement with respect to the pivot stud. A first set of shoulder forming limit stops enables the table structure, when in its use position, to be angularly displaced to a predetermined extent and a second set of shoulders prevents angular displacement between the table base and the compartment when the table structure is disposed in a position preparatory to stowing it in the compartment.
Abstract: A support system for a stowable table is described in which the need for separate hinge mechanisms to accommodate pivotal movement of the table in the principle planes of its movement is obviated by means of a single, spherical hinge arrangement permitting substantially universal movement of the table between its stowed position and various positions of use.
Abstract: An extendable footrest or legrest for a passenger seat or the like including a pressure relief system which permits retraction of the footrest upon the application of a predetermined load. The footrest is supported by a hydraulic actuator that is supported by springs that are compressed by the predetermined load to activate the actuator and allow retraction of the footrest.
