Patent number: 6877539Abstract: A welding apparatus for plastic work pieces has two welding tables arranged next to one another. A propulsion device displaces the welding tables. The propulsion device has a drive motor and a propulsion rod assembly. The propulsion rod assembly has spatially separated double arm levers with two lever arms in each case. The two lever arms are each mounted in a rotatable manner on an axis of rotation and are in a mechanical state of rotary connection with one another. One set of lever arms is kinematically connected to one welding table and the other lever arms are kinematically connected to the other welding table. During rotary movement of the double arm levers, the welding tables are moved toward one another in one direction of rotation, and away from one another in the other direction of rotation.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2002Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: Wegener GmbHInventor: Michael Gehde

Patent number: 6050317Abstract: A welding apparatus is provided for welding overlapping film edges. In order to plasticize film edges, the apparatus includes a heating element with converging heating surfaces over which the film edges are guided. A least one leaf spring extends from a support to resiliently suspend the heating element to permit movement of the heating element perpendicular to the heating surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1997Date of Patent: April 18, 2000Assignee: Wegener GmbHInventor: Reiner Weissfloch

Patent number: 5795431Abstract: Welding equipment for welding plastic workpieces includes two opposite clamping units that can be moved with relation to each other and that are used for fixing and assembling the plastic workpieces to be welded together, plus a heating unit for the plastification of the plastic workpieces at the connection point, whereby a drive unit is provided to generate a drive force that can be transmitted over a dynamic effect segment to the clamping unit and, via the latter, further on to the plastic workpieces. To attain perfect welding results with a greater degree of reliability, the dynamic effect segment has at least one force measurement instrument (38) to record the drive force prevailing there, said unit being connected via a regulating unit with the drive unit (31), whereby the regulating unit controls the drive force generation in the direction of drive (31) by way of adaptation to the predetermined values.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1993Date of Patent: August 18, 1998Assignee: Wegener GmbHInventor: Reinhard Weissfloch

Patent number: 5693276Abstract: A method for extruding synthetic welding material using a welding device for synthetic welding material for the purpose of producing welding seams is characterized by the following features:a) A plastic wire is drawn by a feed device into the welding device (11, 12, 38) for synthetic welding material;b) The plastic wire is fed by the feed device (11, 12, 38) with a specific advancement into a cutting device (26, 36) of the welding device for synthetic welding material;c) In the cutting device (26, 36), pieces are cut consecutively from the plastic wire while forming essentially even cutting surfaces;d) The advancement of the plastic wire and the cutting frequency of the cutting device (26, 36) are in such a ratio to each other that the cut-off length of the pieces is in the same magnitude as the mean diameter of the plastic wire;e) The pieces are then heated until they are plastified;f) The plastified synthetic material is ejected as synthetic welding material from the welding device for synthetic welding matType: GrantFiled: October 20, 1995Date of Patent: December 2, 1997Assignee: Wegener GmbHInventor: Reinhard Weissfloch

Patent number: 5326249Abstract: A machine for bending reinforced thermoplastic workpieces includes a machine frame. First and second spaced rest plates are mounted to the frame, with the plates having a first planer orientation, which define a rest plane, for supporting a workpiece and a second angularly disposed orientation for bending the workpiece. A compression rest is disposed between the plates. A heated bending beam is in alignment with and spaced from the compression rest. A drive system is operably associated with the frame for causing relative movement between the beam and the plates and the rest, so that a workpiece supported by the plates and the rest in the first orientation may engage the beam. The plates are operably interconnected for therefore defining a common pivot axis. A system is provided for causing at least one of the plates to be pivoted about the pivot axis.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1993Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: Wegener GmbHInventor: Reinhard Weissfloch

Patent number: 5112210Abstract: A bending machine for thermoplastic workpieces includes a first clamp assembly having first and second clamping jaws. A second clamp assembly is disposed along a first side of the first clamp assembly and includes third and fourth clamping jaws. The second clamp assembly is displaceable relative to the first clamp assembly, and the fourth clamping jaw is in planar alignment with the second clamping jaw. A heater assembly includes at least a first heating knife disposed along the first side of the first clamp assembly, and is displaceable relative to the first clamp assembly. A bending jaw is disposed along an opposite second side of the first clamp assembly and is pivotal between a first position in planar alignment with the second and fourth clamping jaws and a second position angularly disposed relative thereto.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1990Date of Patent: May 12, 1992Assignee: Wegener GmbHInventor: Rinhard Weissfloch

Patent number: 4781787Abstract: Welding equipment for plastic plates and the like includes a support. First and second longitudinally extending spaced parallel clamping tables are movably mounted to the support so that the tables may be moved towards and away from each other. First and second clamping beams are provided. Each beam overlies one of the tables and is movable therewith and each beam has a first and portion pivotally associated with one of the tables. A lock system extends from each of the beams and cooperates with another lock system associated with the support. The lock systems permit the beams to be independently pivoted relative to the support. A heated blade is movably positionable between the tables.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1986Date of Patent: November 1, 1988Assignee: Wegener GmbH & Co.
