  • Patent number: 6176069
Abstract: A container having a casing made from composite carton and constituting a container body, which is covered on its inside by a barrier layer and a plastic layer deposited thereon, is produced in such a fashion that the casing is rolled over in an outward direction at one end to form a curled edge and, subsequently, a membrane is sealed onto the upper crown of the curled edge. A bottom is attached to the opposite end after the container is filled. In order to guarantee a sealed closure, the casing is tapered inwardly in a conical manner at its one end along a length which is larger than the circumference of the curled edge in such a manner that the outer diameter in the vicinity of the tapered end is smaller by approximately twice the diameter of the curled edge than the outer diameter of the casing. The end is then rolled over in an outer direction to form a curled edge and is then sealed by the membrane.

  • Patent number: 5123573
Abstract: A package for dispensing products capable of fluid motion consists of a container which receives the product, a closure and a re-usable dispensing facility that has a cap which can be fitted onto the container in a sealed manner after opening the closure. The container consists of a sleeve of composite cardboard or paper material preferably with at least one layer that is a barrier to liquids and one sealable plastic layer at least on the inside. The container further consists of a bottom sealed onto the sleeve and a closure membrane which can be wholly or partially opened, sealed to the container at an opposite end. The dispensing facility can be fixed on to the end face of the sleeve by the cap.

  • Patent number: 5027999
Abstract: A can-shaped carton has a body made of a compound of paper and/or cardboard with a plastic coating provided at least on the inside, a bottom sealed to the body, an originality closure sealed to the opposite end face, which closure is opened for the removal of the packed material, and a lid made of plastic for closing the carton again. A simple and inexpensive as well as environmentally friendly embodiment is obtained by the fact that the lid consists of a plastic annular part, which is substantially of the same contour as the body and is sealed on to the end face of the latter, and a disc which is made of a compound of paper and/or cardboard, is moulded into the annular part, spans the body at the end and is covered along its circumference by a narrow strip of material of the annular part which, in turn, is separable over a part of its circumference.

  • Patent number: 4637543
Abstract: A fiber can is made up of a laminated can body with a gas-tight, fusible lining, a lower end wall shutting off one end of the body and a partly metallic cover on the other end of the body. The cover is made up of a rigid cover member crimped on the body having an opening and an inner fusible coating that has an affinity for the lining of the body of the can and which is heat sealed thereto when the cover member is fixed in place on the can body. The opening in the cover member is shut by a covering diaphragm that is fixed in place by adhesively bonding or welding to the cover member and is so elastic or is so pre-shaped that it is able to follow and keep up with the pressure difference between the inside of the can and the outside after the can has been sealed.
