Patents Assigned to Weinmann GmbH & Co. KG
  • Patent number: 5152038
Abstract: In this rotary closure according to the invention for a sports shoe a traction cable arrangement for drawing together the shoe closure flaps can be wound onto and unwound from a rotatable cable pulley. The traction cable arrangement consists of one single traction cable, and coaxially with the cable pulley a stop element is provided and rotatably mounted in such a way that the cable pulley can carry out a maximum of up to approximately two revolutions in one direction of rotation. In this way a particularly compact rotary closure is produced with reliable security against over-rotation of the cable pulley.

  • Patent number: 5042177
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotary closure for a sports shoe, especially a ski shoe, in which at least one traction element co-operating with the closure element of the shoe can be wound onto or off of a pulley which can be rotated by an actuating shaft. A manually releasable locking arrangement fixes the actuating shaft in the chosen position of the closure. In the transmission connection between the actuating shaft and the pulley a releasable coupling is provided which facilitates release of the closure without it being necessary to bend down in order to actuate the locking arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4748726
Abstract: In this rotary fastener which can be used particularly on ski boots two traction wire tensioning elements can be altered in their effective length in opposing directions by a rotary movement in one or the other direction in order to tighten or loosen shoe closure flaps. For the accurate adjustment of the rotary fastener and accurate adaptation of the shoe to a foot a ratchet arrangement is provided in the region between the rotary knob and the wire reel for the traction wire tensioning elements and contains an intermediate element which supports a pawl and is rotatable with the rotary knob whilst maintaining a free play as well as a gear ring inserted in a housing cover and is thereby of simple and compact construction.

  • Patent number: 4611690
Abstract: A bicycle wheel rim brake having an actuating element which can be rotated against spring force is actuated via of a traction cable in such a way that a sliding member supporting a brake lining is displaced in a straight line at right angles to the rim. The axis of rotation of the actuating element coincides with the axis of displacement of the sliding member or lies parallel thereto. A control surface which is inclined relative to this axis of rotation is connected to the sliding member. The sliding member, the brake lining, and the actuating element are supported by a bearing housing which is retained by a bayonet catch in a recess in the wheel fork in such a way that the maintaining of the rim brake is extremely simple.

  • Patent number: 4551932
Abstract: A ski boot has a frontal opening adapted to be closed by a tongue. The tongue carries a latching mechanism having fastening members that may be moved into and out of engagement with anchor members fixed to the boot on opposite sides of the opening. The tongue wholly overlies the fastening members and the anchor members when the boot is in use, thereby minimizing the possibility of icing of the tongue latching mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4538707
Abstract: The invention relates to a rim brake for a bicycle or the like and in which the brake lining can be moved via a pivotally mounted actuating member and a support member which carries the brake lining and is movable at right angles to the rim. The actuating member is rotatable about an axis which may coincide with the axis of displacement of the support member and is connected to the support member via a threaded control such that rotation of the actuating member in one direction imparts axial movement of the support member in a direction to apply the brake lining to the rim.

  • Patent number: 4480395
Abstract: A shoe closure intended particularly for ski boots contains two pull straps adapted to be fastened on corresponding parts of the shoe and a rotatable actuating member with two driving members arranged eccentrically with reference to the axis of rotation of the actuating member. The ends of the pull straps which face each other have only half the width of the remainder of the straps and are located adjacent and alongside each other. Each pull strap has a groove which is open toward the other pull strap, the depth of such groove corresponding to the eccentricity of the driving members, and the driving members engage in the groove so that a largely direct and effective and closing is made possible in a simple manner.

  • Patent number: 4163481
Abstract: A rim brake construction especially adapted for use with the rear wheel of a bicycle comprises a pair of brake units adapted for mounting on the bicycle frame members which straddle the rear wheel. Each brake unit has a housing pivotally and symmetrically mounted on its associated frame member. Each housing has a pair of brake lining carriers operable to move into braking engagement with the rear wheel rim in response to the application of a braking force. The lining carriers are biased by springs to a brake released position.

  • Patent number: 4151897
Abstract: A caliper brake has stirrups mounted on a shaft that is connected to, though turnable on, the bicycle frame. A retaining device keeps the stirrup on the shaft, and an apertured cap surmounts the retaining device. The shaft can be turned by a wrench that reaches through the aperture of the cap to engage the shaft end.

  • Patent number: 4136759
Abstract: A bicycle wheel rim brake comprises a pair of extensible and retractable brake members mounted in bicycle frame members which straddle the wheel rim. Each brake member is symmetrical about the longitudinal axis of its frame member and is slidably mounted in an opening formed in a support for movements toward and away from the rim. A cover is carried by each support and overlies the associated opening. Springs acting between the covers and the brake members bias the latter away from the rim and hold the covers in place.
