  • Patent number: 10984673
Abstract: A training device for acquiring or maintaining muscle memory and fingertip callouses of a stringed instrument player. The device includes an elongated base plate structure having a width dimension like that of a neck of a stringed instrument and a length dimension configured to accommodate a plurality of fret-like lateral spaced protrusions extending above a top surface of the base plate. First and second sets of string supports are arranged respectively at the longitudinal ends of the base plate and arranged to hold device strings in tension above the top surface. An attachment structure may be provided for attaching the device to the person of the player in a ready-to-use position. The device is configured so that the player can strum the device strings to develop or maintain muscle memory and/or fingertip callouses.

  • Patent number: 7281450
Abstract: Vehicle unlocking tool for unlocking vehicle doors from the outside of the vehicle comprises at least two rod sections which are coupled together one rod section having a handle for manipulating the overall rod tool and the other rod section having an end portion that is used to push or pull or otherwise manipulate a lock actuator. The first rod section is stiffer than the second rod section which is made to be flexible to avoid scratching the interior of the car, such as the door panels, seats or dash but still has sufficient stiffness to transfer the force necessary to unlock the door. Additional sections may be added to the rod to lengthen its reach as needed by the tool operator.

  • Patent number: 6810698
Abstract: A lock housing for releasably securing the free end of a cable or shackle in the interior of the housing is in the form of an inner substantially rigid non-steel body encapsulated or enclosed within a hardened steel shell. The housing has a top and bottom wall and cable or shackle free end receiving bore. A cavity extends into the housing from the bottom wall with a key lock cylinder mounted therein. The lock cylinder includes a rotatable plug for turning through a predetermined angle from a locked to an unlocked position with a key. A locking member or deadbolt, coupled to the plug, is arranged to move into a detent or groove in the cable or shackle free end to secure the free end in the housing. Rotating the plug to the unlocked position allows the cable of shackle free end to be removed from the housing.

  • Patent number: 6474238
Abstract: A trigger locking safety device is disclosed having two side blocks, one of the side blocks having a locking pin affixed thereto. The locking pin is inserted into a hole in the other side block and the pin is held therein by a latch structure affixed to the end of a key lock tumbler rotatably located in that side block. Spacers inserted onto the pin take up the space between the side blocks and mate appropriately with a gun trigger guard and trigger to block the trigger from movement. Different spacers can be provided to conform with different trigger guard and trigger arrangements, allowing one side block and locking pin arrangement to be useable with a variety of gun types.

  • Patent number: 6457272
Abstract: Firearm security arrangements are disclosed that may be incorporated or provided as an add-on elements to a variety of gun locks. The lock may be toughened by adding hardened inserts to strategic locations on the gun lock. Additionally, hardening may be accomplished by a plurality of pins located in the gun lock side members. Fitting plates or escutcheon plates may be directly incorporated into gun lock upon manufacture or provided as a kit part. Additional security is provided by a cable with end caps. The cable is looped through the barrel of a gun and the end caps secured to the gun lock.

  • Patent number: 6360637
Abstract: A rod having bends to facilitate engaging a vehicle door locking mechanism including at least one flat surface lying in the plane of the bends. To increase efficiency, the portion of the tool engaging the locking mechanism can be gnarled. The cross section of the tool can have two flat sides opposing one another. As the tool is inserted into the door, the flat sides allow for less pressure on the door, seal, and window than other comparable tools having a substantially circular cross section. Furthermore, the rod remains at a sufficient thickness to be manipulated within the door and still transfer the force necessary to unlock the door. The tool is made by a process of cutting a rod to a desired length, grinding at least one side flat, bending the rod to a desired shape in the same plane as the ground side, and heat treating the tool.

  • Patent number: 5918402
Abstract: A gun trigger blocking apparatus to deter children and unauthorized and uninformed adults from being able to work the trigger and shoot a gun, rifle or shotgun. A first body member, adapted to be mounted on one side of a trigger guard, has an opening therein with buttress thread engaging grooves for receiving and releasable holding a locking rod affixed to a second body member adapted to be mounted on the other side of the trigger guard. A key lock is mounted on the first body member and arranged to rotate to an open mode by a key. Once in the open mode, the lock must then be depressed inwardly and at the same time a spring biased safety pin must be forced inwardly to disengage the buttress thread engaging grooves from the locking rod to allow the body members to be removed from the trigger guard.

  • Patent number: 5437119
Abstract: A pseudo lock gun trigger blocking structure deterring children and uninformed adults from being able to work the trigger and shoot a handgun, rifle or shotgun. A pseudo key member that has the outward appearance of a lock key tumbler is mounted in a first block half to extend to the interior thereof with an opening therethrough having buttress thread engaging grooves on the back side of the opening. The pseudo key member is resiliently biased by an internal spring to an outer position but is resiliently pushable inwardly to an inwardmost position when permitted by a blocking pin being pushed in to an unblocking position against the resilient bias of a spring to permit movement of the pseudo key member to its innermost position.
