  • Patent number: 8444399
Abstract: A pump system for conveying a first fluid using a second fluid. The system includes at least a first pump having at least a first rigid outer casing defining a first interior space and a first flexible tube structure accommodated in the first interior space. • Publication number: 20130078114
Abstract: A pump system using multiple reciprocating positive displacement pumps which phase shift is controlled by a phase shift controller. The phase shift controller uses a virtual master pump inside the phase shift controller which is used as a phase reference against which the phase shifts of the individual pumps is calculated. The phase shift controller adjusts the speed reference set-point for the variable speed drives of the individual pumps such that a desired phase shift is obtained and maintained. The operation of multiple reciprocating pumps using phase shift control can significantly reduce the pressure pulsation levels in the pump system. The use of a virtual master pump eliminates master slave scheduling and increases system reliability and availability as the operating of the phase control is not depending on the reliability of a real master pump.

  • Patent number: 8388321
Abstract: A positive displacement pump apparatus includes a pump chamber in a pipe system for receiving a pumping fluid, the pipe system having an inlet and an outlet which can be shut by a valve. The chamber is connected via an intermediate fluid chamber with a displacement element including a piston head and a piston rod, which is arranged to alternately carry out a suction stroke and a displacement stroke during its movement to displace fluid in the intermediate fluid chamber, thereby increasing or reducing the volume of the pump chamber. A flexible separating element including a diaphragm is provided at the pump chamber to separate the fluid in the intermediate fluid chamber from the pumping fluid. A force member is provided for applying force to the piston head during the displacement stroke to counteract force exerted on the piston head by the fluid in the intermediate fluid chamber.

  • Patent number: 8336445
Abstract: Disclosed is a pumping system comprising a pump having a rigid outer casing defining an interior space and a tube structure in the interior space, the tube structure being flexible and substantially inelastic. The interior of the tube structure defines a pumping chamber for receiving pumped fluid. The tube structure is movable between laterally expanded and collapsed conditions thereby providing discharge and intake strokes. The pumping chamber receives pumped fluid to cause the tube structure to move towards the expanded condition and undergo an intake stroke. The pumping chamber—undergoes a discharge stroke upon collapsing of the tube structure. The pumping system also comprises a delivery means and a supplying means for delivering pumped fluid to the pumping chamber and for supplying actuating fluid to an actuating region around the tube structure in timed sequence to cause the tube structure to undergo discharge and intake strokes.
