Patents Assigned to Weir Minerals Netherlands B.V.
  • Patent number: 12152608
Abstract: A pumping system for pumping a medium is described. The system comprises: at least one transverse pressure exchange chamber, but preferably multiple pressure exchange chambers. Each pressure exchange chamber has a valve arrangement at each end. The system also includes a pressurised discharge at a delivery end of the system and a filling mechanism operable to fill the pressure exchange chamber with the medium. A positive displacement pump is operable to pump a driving fluid in direct contact with the medium so that the medium is pumped from the pressure exchange chamber to the pressurised discharge. A method of pumping a medium is also described.

  • Patent number: 11149725
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a hydraulic pump system for handling a slurry medium comprising at least two reciprocating positive displacement pumps, both pumps being arranged for alternating intake of slurry medium via a suction inlet and discharge of slurry medium via a discharge outlet, and piston/cylinder discharge valves for alternating closing and opening each discharge outlet. In a first aspect, a hydraulic pump system for handling a slurry medium, comprising at least two reciprocating positive displacement pumps, both pumps being arranged for alternating intake of slurry medium via a suction inlet and discharge of slurry medium via a discharge outlet, and piston/cylinder discharge valves for alternating closing and opening each discharge outlet, as well as control means for controlling the alternate closing and opening of both piston/cylinder discharge valves, such that during operation no volume difference occurs in the discharge of slurry medium is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8444399
Abstract: A pump system for conveying a first fluid using a second fluid. The system includes at least a first pump having at least a first rigid outer casing defining a first interior space and a first flexible tube structure accommodated in the first interior space. The interior of the first flexible tube structure is arranged for receiving one of the first or second fluids. The region of the first interior space surrounding the first flexible tube structure is arranged for receiving the other of the first and second fluids. The first flexible tube structure is movable between laterally expanded and collapsed conditions for varying the volume of the interior of the first flexible tube structure, thereby imparting sequential discharge and intake strokes on the first fluid.

  • Patent number: 8388321
Abstract: A positive displacement pump apparatus includes a pump chamber in a pipe system for receiving a pumping fluid, the pipe system having an inlet and an outlet which can be shut by a valve. The chamber is connected via an intermediate fluid chamber with a displacement element including a piston head and a piston rod, which is arranged to alternately carry out a suction stroke and a displacement stroke during its movement to displace fluid in the intermediate fluid chamber, thereby increasing or reducing the volume of the pump chamber. A flexible separating element including a diaphragm is provided at the pump chamber to separate the fluid in the intermediate fluid chamber from the pumping fluid. A force member is provided for applying force to the piston head during the displacement stroke to counteract force exerted on the piston head by the fluid in the intermediate fluid chamber.

  • Patent number: 8336445
Abstract: Disclosed is a pumping system comprising a pump having a rigid outer casing defining an interior space and a tube structure in the interior space, the tube structure being flexible and substantially inelastic. The interior of the tube structure defines a pumping chamber for receiving pumped fluid. The tube structure is movable between laterally expanded and collapsed conditions thereby providing discharge and intake strokes. The pumping chamber receives pumped fluid to cause the tube structure to move towards the expanded condition and undergo an intake stroke. The pumping chamber—undergoes a discharge stroke upon collapsing of the tube structure. The pumping system also comprises a delivery means and a supplying means for delivering pumped fluid to the pumping chamber and for supplying actuating fluid to an actuating region around the tube structure in timed sequence to cause the tube structure to undergo discharge and intake strokes.

  • Patent number: 7707925
Abstract: A pumping system comprising a pump (21) for conveying a pumped fluid using an actuating fluid. The pump comprising a rigid outer casing (25) defining an interior space (26), a tube structure (27) accommodated in the interior space (26), the tube structure (27) being flexible and substantially inelastic. The interior of the tube structure (27) defines a pumping chamber (28) for receiving pumped fluid. The tube structure (27) is movable between laterally expanded and collapsed conditions for varying the volume of the pumping chamber (28) thereby to provide discharge and intake strokes. The region of the interior space (26) surrounding the tube structure (27) defines an actuating region for receiving and accommodating actuating fluid. The pumping chamber (28) is adapted to receive pumped fluid to cause the tube structure (27) to move towards the expanded condition and the pumping chamber (28) thereby undergoing an intake stroke.

  • Patent number: 7201097
Abstract: The invention relates to a diaphragm pump for pumping aggressive and/or abrasive media, such as slurries, comprising a diaphragm housing mounted in a substantially vertically disposed pipe system, which substantially vertically disposed pipe system comprises at least one inlet and at least one outlet positioned some distance above the inlet, as well as at least one substantially circular, flexible diaphragm, which diaphragm is movable within the diaphragm housing under the influence of a working liquid to be pressurised, in which the circular outer edge of the diaphragm is clamped down in the diaphragm housing by means of a circular clamping member. According to the invention, the diaphragm pump is characterized in that the circular clamping member is provided, on the circumferential edge thereof, with a flange that extends parallel to the plane formed by the clamping member.
