Patents Assigned to Weld Mold Company
  • Patent number: 7950126
Abstract: Improved cored-wire fabrication replaces multiple roller pairs with one or more dies. In the preferred embodiment, flat stock is pulled through a single cylindrical die including an upper tab to ensure and orient the formation of a gap to receive internal powders. Once the powders are introduced, a cylindrical die is used for closure though again, one or more rollers may be used between the powder feed and the die used for closing. In the preferred embodiment, however, a single gap-forming die is used before the powder feed, and a single closing die is used after the powder feed, replacing numerous rollers and other moving parts, thereby dramatically simplifying the apparatus and method of manufacture.

  • Patent number: 5670073
Abstract: A water cooled gas metal arc welding (MIG) gun which is provided with a water cooling system for the gun barrel that introduces the coolant water at the bottom of the barrel to create a coolant water flow through the gun that does not allow the coolant water to stagnate and heat up. The gun includes a water cooled shielding gas cup on the lower end that ensures coolant water flow therethrough, and provides metal thickness at the end of the cup which prevents physical abuse of the cup from affecting the guns' performance. The gun has a shielding gas delivery system which ensures good shielding gas flow and allows for replaceable shielding gas diffusers.

  • Patent number: 4782211
Abstract: A cluster welding electrode assembly is provided which permits the deposition of maximum weights of weld metal with minimum amperage and voltage values. The assembly is comprised of a central rod electrode having circumferentially grouped or nested thereabout in longitudinally aligned relationship a plurality of lesser diameter rod electrodes. Each of the rods in the assembly carries thereon a novel flux coating productive during the welding operation of a nickel-chromium-molybdenum type alloy characterized as dense, porous-free and homogenous. The flux composition incorporates defined amounts of molybdenum and tungsten, and there is obtained by practice of the invention weld metal of low carbon content and substantially improved physical properties.

  • Patent number: 4532407
Abstract: Welding apparatus embodies an electrode support and guide structure provided by a framework hingedly connected at opposite ends and supported generally midway of the ends by a swivel joint assembly rotatively mounted for swingable movement by one end of a hinged support arm connected at its opposite end to generally vertically disposed mounting structure. A plurality of pivotal connections are provided which permit an operator to move the electrode vertically, horizontally, and generally arcuately with respect to a workpiece being welded.

  • Patent number: 4221953
Abstract: A pivotally adjustable welding electrode support is used to permit remote adjustment of the contact angle of the welding electrode with the material to be welded. The use of a modified parallelogram construction of the holding arm in combination with the use of hinges and a ball joint allow the torch or electrode to be moved not only in the horizontal and vertical plane but also permit remote rotational adjustment of the electrode to change the angle that the electrode makes with the horizontal plane. A ball socket supports the parallelogram structure of the arm. The modified parallelogram support linkage of the arm comprises two adjoining parallelogram shaped sections; one section is vertically offset from the other section. Each edge of each parallelogram shaped section contains a hinge to support movement of the electrode to change the angle of the electrode with the forge die or workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4087673
Abstract: An electrode for and method of welding cast iron and the like metals utilizing a 99% nickel rod in the presence of an alloying flux containing large amounts (30 to 60%) of iron plus manganese and carbon to yield a weld metal having the general composition: Nickel 60-85%, Iron 15-40%, Manganese 1.5-5%, Carbon 1-3% and Silicon 0.25-2%. The flux is preferably present as a rod coating and comprises from about 40% to about 60% of the weight of the composite coated rod. The coated rod can be used in any generally excepted welding technique including the use of alternating current, direct current straight polarity or direct current reverse polarity welding operations.
