Abstract: Agents for the oxidative dyeing of hair, containing as coloring component 6-amino-3-methylphenol, also in the form of its salts or phenolates. The coloring component is contained in these agents in a quantity of about 0.01 to 2.0 percent by weight, alone or in a mixture with the customary developing and coupling substances. In the case of a mixture, the 6-amino-3-methylphenol is preferably used at a molar ratio below normal relative to these developing and coupling substances. The oxidative reaction of the 6-amino-3-methylphenol proceeding with an intensive yellow coloring is generally not influenced by the customary developing and coupling substances that may be present.
Abstract: A process for shampooing and/or conditioning the hair by applying to the hair a lotion containing a shampoo and/or conditioning agent including an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic solution, emulsion or gel containing a water soluble salt of chitosan.

Abstract: Process for reducing the alkali concentration in alkaline reactive cosmetic preparations which comprises the step of adding to such a preparation, shortly before its use, at least one alkali-cleavable organic compound having ester and/or halogen groups in its molecule and which is capable on cleavage to form an acid. The invention also includes the agents suitable for carrying out the aforesaid process.
Abstract: Hair dyeing compositions containing a dye which has the formula ##SPC1##Wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each hydrogen or hydroxy ethyl alone or in conjunction with an oxidation and/or direct dyeing dye. The hair dyeing compositions can also include the conventional additives such as water soluble surface active agents, thickening agents, complex formers, antioxidants, softeners, perfumes, and the like.
Abstract: Process for permanently waving or straightening human hair comprising the steps of pretreating the hair with a detergent solution containing an alkali metal- or ammonium sulfite, saturating the hair with an alkaline solution of a mercaptocarboxylic acid salt, winding the hair up on perforated hollow curlers or rollers having a diameter of 10-24 mm, rinsing the hair with water and removing the excess water from the hair, in separate steps or in a combined step treating the hair with peroxide and with a polymerizate to fix and set the same respectively, drying the hair, unwinding the hair from the curlers and combing the hair in the conventional manner to provide the desired hair fashion.
