Abstract: The presently claimed invention is directed to an oxidative hair treatment composition comprising (A) at least one alkalizing agent, (B) at least one oxidizing agent, (C) at least one saturated acyclic terpane which is a saturated acyclic terpane having 10 to 40 carbon atoms, (D) at least one amino acid selected from the group consisting of alanine, glycine, phenylalanine, leucine, valine, isoleucine; glutamic acid, aspartic acid, citrulline, histidine, arginine, lysine and tyrosine, (E) a cosmetically acceptable aqueous or aqueous-organic medium, and (J) at least one chelant; a kit comprising the aforementioned components and a method of treating hair with the oxidative hair treatment composition according to the presently claimed invention.
