Abstract: A wrist support for supporting a wrist of a user is provided that comprises a plurality of cushioning elements, and a connector for connecting the cushioning elements together, wherein the wrist support is substantially an annulus, and wherein the cushioning elements: comprise a resilient material, are arranged adjacent to one another in the annulus, are arranged radially about the central axis of the annulus, and are capable of being disposed on the user's wrist in a position wherein the user experiences minimal or no wrist strain. The wrist support supports the wrist comfortably in a neutral position that minimizes or eliminates wrist strain when the user is engaged in an activity that involves repetitive wrist or hand movements such as computer mouse usage or typing.
Abstract: Orthopedic support devices are provided that include a first layer of elastomeric material is attached directly atop or around a layer of a spacer material, wherein the first layer provides support and/or compression, and the second layer provides breathability and wicking and wherein characteristics of the first layer can be varied in order to vary the location, amount and/or level of compression provided by the support device.
Abstract: Orthopedic support devices are provided that include a main body having at least one border area and causing targeted compression to a body part over which an orthopedic support device is worn and that further include at least one transition cuff located at a border area of the main body, wherein the main body is made of a material that has a predetermined elastic modulus and wherein the at least one transition cuff is made of a material that has a lower predetermined elastic modulus than the material from which the main body is made such that the presence of the at least one transition cuff is effective to reduce displacement of soft tissue at the border area that is caused by the targeted compression of the main body.
