Abstract: There is disclosed a building wall or roof structure comprising support beams, an inner liner mounted on the support beams, outer cladding, a plurality of spacers spacing the outer cladding from the inner liner, and thermal insulation disposed between the inner liner and the outer cladding. In order that for different buildings the thickness of the thermal insulation may vary each spacer is adjustable and comprises a plurality of spaced brackets each of which has a first end portion mounted on the inner liner and an opposed second end portion and each of which presents a projecting tab spaced from the first end portion. Each spacer also comprises a member or members each of which has at least one row of holes provided therein and each of which has a first edge portion presenting a projecting first flange and a second edge portion presenting a projecting second flange which projects in a direction opposite to the first flange and to which the outer cladding is secured.

Abstract: There is provided an assembly for opening and closing a closure lid of a grain bin or silo from a remote position, such as ground level. When a flexible cord or cable connected to the upper end of a lower lever is operatively pulled there is relative pivotal movement between this lower lever and an upper lever against the influence of a spring acting therebetween, with a latch arm the upper end of which is pivotally connected through an operating arm to the upper end of the upper lever being initially pivotted relative to the closure lid to move a latch member presented by the latch arm out of engagement with a fixed bracket member with resilient deformation of a relatively stiff but resiliently deformable strip connected between the closure lid and the operating arm. Thereafter, the closure lid is pivotally raised about a fixed pivot axis thereof. Releasing of the cord or cable results in the closure lid being urged under the influence of the spring pivotally to be lowered to its closed condition.

Abstract: In a fence structure comprising upper and lower horizontal rails between which fence panels are disposed each of the fence panels is connected to each of the rails by a jointed structure, the jointed structure comprising a resiliently deformable V-shaped lip a first limb of which is presented by the fence panel and the second limb of which has a free edge, with the lip disposed, with the second limb resiliently deformed towards the first limb, within a recess in the associated rail. The lip is in contact with a bottom wall of the recess with a space provided between this bottom wall and the second limb of the lip, the free edge of which is in biting engagement with one side wall of the recess at a spaced distance from the bottom wall thereof, with the first limb of the lip in bearing contact with the other side wall of the recess.

Abstract: In order to provide, in a composite structural assembly comprising a plurality of metallic support members disposed in side-by-side relationship and a layer of cementitious material disposed on the plurality of support members, for the securement of the support members to the layer of cementitious material in a particularly simple and efficient manner, there are provided spaced lugs which project from each side edge portion of each of the support members, with according to one aspect of the invention the lugs presented by adjacent side edge portions of adjacent support members being interfitted and being embedded within the layer of cementitious material.
