Patents Assigned to Westendorf Manufacturing Co., Inc.
  • Publication number: 20040126217
Abstract: A bale lift device is provided by the invention. The bale lift device includes a back frame, a spear member, and rotation axis. The back frame includes a first end, a second end, and at least one extension separating the first end from the second end. The back frame includes a first area for attaching to the loader hydraulic cylinder of a front end loader. The back frame includes a second area for attaching to the loader arm of a front end loader. The spear member includes at least one spear having a first end for penetrating a bale and a second end attached to the back frame. The rotation axis allows the spear member to rotate relative to the back frame. A front end loader having a bale lift device and a method for transporting a bale are provided. A method of assisting the removal of a bale lifting device from a bale without additional levers or hydraulic controls or hydraulic cylinders is provided. The method can utilize the controls already existing in the operational functions of the loader.

  • Patent number: 6582177
Abstract: A front end loader is provided according to the invention. The front end loader has a tower, a tower subframe, a knee, a loader arm, a front arm, a lift cylinder, and an attachment cylinder. The tower has a first tower end and a second tower end. The second tower end includes a shoe area for covering and attaching to a shoe-receiving region provided on a first bracket assembly attached to tractor. The tower subframe has a first tower subframe end and a second tower subframe end. The first tower subframe end is attached to the tower, and the second tower subframe end is constructed for attachment to a second bracket assembly attached to a tractor. The knee has a first knee rotation axis and a second knee rotation axis. The loader arm has a first loader arm end and a second loader arm end. The first loader arm end is rotatably attached to the first tower end of the tower. The second loader arm end is attached to the knee. The front arm has a first front arm end and a second front arm end.

  • Patent number: 6374520
Abstract: A bucket for a front end loader. The bucket includes a floor, a back wall, a left sidewall, and a right sidewall. The floor includes a floor leading edge, a floor trailing edge, a floor left edge, and a floor right edge. The back wall includes a back wall leading edge, a back wall trailing edge, a back wall left edge and a back wall right edge. The left sidewall extends along the left edges of the floor and the back wall, and the right sidewall extends along the right edges of the floor and the back wall. The bucket can be characterized as having a tapered construction. This means that the length of the floor leading edge and the length of the back wall leading edge are greater than the length of the floor trailing edge and the length of the back wall trailing edge, respectively. The difference in lengths provides buckets that can be stacked for transportation. A method for transporting a plurality of buckets is provided.

  • Patent number: 4859130
Abstract: A material handling attachment such as a bucket or the like is pivotally secured to the three-point hitch assembly of the tractor. The hitch assembly is movable between a lower position and an upper position by means of standard equipment on the tractor, A mechanical linkage interconnects the bucket, hitch assembly and the tractor so that the bucket will be in a substantially level position when the hitch assembly is in its lowermost position. As the hitch assembly is moved upwardly relative to the tractor, the linkage maintains the bucket in a level position. When the hitch assembly reaches its uppermost position, the linkage causes the bucket to be moved to a dumping position. After the material in the bucket has been dumped therefrom, the three-point hitch assembly is lowered with the bucket being automatically re-set to its operative or working position.
