  • Patent number: 9361768
Abstract: An information gauge apparatus and method for providing both visual and audio readings of pressure within a pressure vessel. The information gauge apparatus includes a digital display coupled to a printed circuit board in communication with a pressure sensor. The digital display illustrates indicia relating gas pressure levels provided by the pressure sensor to the printed circuit board during use. The gauge further comprises an audible indicator coupled to the printed circuit board, the audible indicator provides an audible signal relating to gas pressure levels sensed by the pressure sensor to the printed circuit board during use. The gauge also includes a mechanical sensor providing a mechanically sensed reading value to a visual indicia display on the information gauge apparatus relating to gas pressure levels during use.

  • Patent number: 6612307
Abstract: An oxygen conserver having sensing and delivery ports simultaneously connected with a patient by a dual cannula. Inhalation by a patient produces a partial vacuum to move a sensing diaphragm to a venting position and cause a delivery diaphragm to move to an open position for supplying oxygen to the patient through the delivery port. A manually operable control valve enables continuous oxygen flow through the delivery port independently of operation of the sensing diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 6158457
Abstract: A gas pressure reduction apparatus has a high pressure inlet port and low pressure outlet port. A spring-biased piston is operatively interposed between the inlet and outlet ports. The apparatus includes a metal part with a high pressure passage communicating the inlet port with the piston. The high pressure passage has a portion with a relatively constricted flow area, whereby compression of gas flowing through the passage yields heat of compression that heats the metal part. The apparatus further includes a plastic part configured to engage and support the metal part in an operative position in which the inlet port communicates with an outlet port on a pressure vessel outlet valve.

  • Patent number: 5520214
Abstract: A regulator and fill valve assembly for filling a fluid pressure tank and for regulating the flow of pressurized fluid from the tank includes a regulator portion having a valve body with a piston chamber. A pressure flow passageway extends from an inlet end to a first end of the piston chamber and an outlet port communicates with the piston chamber. A piston is movable in the piston chamber. A first spring at a second opposite end of the piston chamber urges the piston toward the first end of the piston chamber. A handle is provided for manually controlling the force of the first spring acting on the piston. A check valve assembly is located in the passageway and includes a seat, a valve member, a valve guide and a second spring biasing the valve member and guide towards the seat. The valve member is movable in a direction towards a closed position against the seat by fluid pressure in the passageway and the biasing force of the second spring.

  • Patent number: 5135023
Abstract: A pressure regulator is described including an integral indicator which signals the near depletion of gas in a compressed gas cylinder to which the regulator is connected. The indicator remains extended as long as an adequate supply of gas remains in the cylinder. Upon the near depletion of the gas, the indicator withdraws into the regulator body to warn of the near depletion of gas.

  • Patent number: 4898205
Abstract: A stem regulator for direct mounting on the valve of a high pressure gas cylinder to provide a reduced delivery pressure for components or circuits of lesser pressure rating. The main body of the regulator, which contains its working parts, is adapted to serve, for example, as an inlet nipple for connecting the cylinder valve to a conventional adjustable pressure regulator. At one end, the body has a cylinder valve coupling face and nut and at the opposite end has an adaptor threaded to mate with the conventional regulator. A compact design and straight-through flow path of the regulator simplifies installation and ensures durability.

  • Patent number: 4844123
Abstract: A quick-connect cylinder valve and connector provides a tank connector half mounted in a high-pressure tank containing liquefied carbon dioxide and a base connector half mounted in an upright position. Each connector half provides a valve which is closed when the connector halves are not connected. The connector operates to support the tank in a vertical position and is arranged to provide easy installation and removal of the tank even in confined locations in which access is limited. The two connector halves provide cylindrical telescoping surfaces which align the connector halves during initial assembly. After the connector halves are aligned, a probe on the base connector half enters a seal on the tank connector half to form a fluidtight joint therebetween. Thereafter, at full assembly, the probe opens the valve contained ijn the tank connector half. The weight of the tank and its contents opposes the blowoff force created by the pressure within the assembled connector.

  • Patent number: 4782861
Abstract: A compressed gas supply system is disclosed which includes a pressure tank for a predetermined compressed gas. An outlet valve is mounted on the pressure tank and includes at least two outlet ports. One outlet port is provided with a size and thread configuration proportioned to meet a first industry standard for connection of equipment using the compressed gas within the tank. The other port has a size and thread configuration different from the one port, and proportioned to meet a second different standard for connection of equipment using the compressed gas. An automatic pressure-regulating valve is provided in one of the ports to reduce the pressure delivered to such port to a maximum pressure less than the maximum pressure allowable in the associated outlet port. The valve reduces the inventory requirements by permitting the use of a single valve and tank combination to connect with distribution systems for the compressed gas having different maximum pressure values.
