    Abstract: A bristle ring diffuser for diffusing UV light is described herein. In one example, the radiation diffuser cone comprises a base and a plurality of bristles. The base has an interface which is coupleable to an object having an ultraviolet (UV) light source. The base also has an aperture which aligns with the UV light source when the interface is coupled to the UV light source. The plurality of bristles is arranged about the aperture and extend from the base. The plurality of bristles is opaque to UV light and is angled away from a central axis of the aperture.

A pump in the lower chamber draws liquid from the kettle to the trough assembly. A plurality of entry openings are provided in the trough assembly along with a plurality of exit openings opposed to and aligned with the entry openings. Adjacent tubes in the trough assembly are aligned with the plurality of entry and exit openings.

A rod drive mechanism moves a plurality of adjacent rods into, through, and out of the plurality of adjacent tubes. A kettle is provided beneath both the liquid reservoir and beneath the tubes. At least one pump pumps liquid from the kettle to the liquid reservoir so that liquid is continuously cycled to the tubes.

The outer surface and the inner surface can define a gap therebetween sufficient to establish an isolation enclosure that isolates a volume containing the first and second electrical contacts therein. The gap can be formed prior to electrical communication of the first and second electrical contacts thereby preventing an explosion due to arcing between the first and second electrical contacts.

Each seal head intermediate the seal heads disposed at upper and lower ends of the seal section is provided with one upperwardly extending tube and one downwardly extending tube such that any selected number of balance chambers can be formed by selecting the number of intermediate seal heads to be incorporated into the seal section.
