  • Patent number: 5455639
Abstract: A protective eyewear including a brow member, two temple arm members, a front lens and two side shields. The front lens is removably attached to the brow member within a channel formed therein. The lens includes a series of projections adjacent one edge thereof and the brow member including a corresponding series of slots opening into the channel. The projections on the lens are engaged within the slots in the brow member to lock the lens within the brow channel. The side shields are attached to the corresponding temple arm members by means of at least one projecting hub which is engaged within the temple arm. The nub preferably includes a central opening. The temple arm is molded to the side shield such that the temple arm material fills the central opening and engages the hub to lock the side shield in position. The eyewear provides a removable lens and also forms a protective structure that meets the eyewear impact resistance standards.

  • Patent number: 4934361
Abstract: Breathing equipment, e.g., a half mask-type respirator, is disclosed. A mask is provided with three ports of common dimension in any one of which inhalation or exhalation fittings housing inhalation or exhalation valves may be mounted. Disclosed are chemical and mechanical filtration cartridges usable alternatively or in combination. Disposable chemical filtration cartridges having novel lock and seal structure are disclosed. Bayonet-type couplings for coupling the filter housings to the inhalation respiratory fittings and an audible device to indicate that the filter housings are properly coupled are disclosed. The respirator valve is a thin umbrella-shaped disk valve having a multiplicity of radiating ribs which biases the valve to the closed position. A novel crown strap suspension is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4560029
Abstract: A security device for providing a detachable and adjustable connection of a workman's safety belt lanyard to a safety line or the like. The device includes a pair of vertically spaced pivotally mounted cams having serrated cam faces directed into a vertical channel adapted to receive a safety line. The cams are joined by a link to maintain their parallel relation and are spring loaded toward a line engaging position. A pivoted eye connected to the link provides an attachment point for a lanyard. The frame of the device includes pivotally connected front and rear frame portions which may be opened to apply the device to or remove it from a safety line. A latch mechanism provides a secure locking of the frame portions in their closed line clamping position, but may be readily released to allow removal of the device from a line.

  • Patent number: 4348151
Abstract: A frame assembly is secured within an open topped truck box and includes a pair of side frames and head rack at the front of said truck box. A lifting yoke is mounted on rollers between the side frames and when in the elevated or winching position, it can be rolled along the side frames from a forward position to a rearward position and vice versa and a winch assembly is mounted upon the lifting yoke for loading and unloading items upon or from the truck box. Brake clamps are provided to lock the lifting yoke in position along the side frames. When not in use, the lifting yoke may be stored by pivoting the yoke forwardly until it lies upon the outer sides of the side frame whereupon it is detachably locked to the head rack. By routing the winch cable around pulleys on the yoke and on the side frame assembly, the winch can be used to partially elevate the lifting yoke from the stored position to adjacent the winching position and vice versa.
