Abstract: A jam free dual redundant actuator lane changer system includes a primary lane system and a secondary lane system. The primary lane system is configured to provide actuation of a component during a normal operation while the secondary lane system remains in a standby configuration; and the secondary lane system is configured to provide an actuation of the component when the primary lane system fails or jams, but freed from its output to the component.

Abstract: A jam free linear actuator system includes a linear electro-mechanical actuator configured to actuate a component; a disengagement mechanism configured to disengage components of the linear electro-mechanical actuator in an event of a jammed failure; a fixed end fitting mechanical connection; and a trim end fitting mechanical connection. The fixed end fitting mechanical connection connects the linear electro-mechanical actuator to a portion of a system implementing the linear electro-mechanical actuator; and the trim end fitting mechanical connection connects the linear electro-mechanical actuator to the component.

Abstract: Actuators can include a line replaceable brake unit including a window for inspecting brake elements. In particular, an actuator system includes a modular brake component having an integral brake housing configured to mount to a motor, wherein the integral brake housing is environmentally sealed; a drive coupling within the integral brake housing configured to mechanically couple with an output shaft of the motor; one or more braking disks arranged in the integral brake housing configured to brake movement of the drive coupling when engaged; an armature in the integral brake housing configured to engage or disengage the one or more braking disks with the drive coupling; and an inspection window through the integral brake housing aligned with at least a portion of the one or more braking disks. A method for implementing an actuator system is disclosed as well.

Abstract: An actuator system and a method for assembling the same are provided. An actuator system includes a housing and a cap. The housing includes a cavity defined by the housing and an opening defined in a wall of the housing. The housing encases an actuator within the cavity. The cap is coupled to the housing to facilitate shielding the opening from a surrounding environment.
