    Abstract: A display system is provided including a display assembly with a display region of a first size, an overlay having a first substantially transparent section corresponding to the size of the display region of the display assembly and a second customized section extending beyond the first substantially transparent section, and an adhesive optically bonding the display region of the display assembly to the overlay. In some embodiments, the display assembly is one of a liquid crystal display, an organic light emitting diode display, and an electronic paper display. In some embodiments, the second customized section of the overlay may include an accessory, such as a sensor accessory, an actuator, or a coating.

The LCD also comprises a rear polarizer assembly comprising a compensation film, a polarizer mounted on the rear surface of the compensation film, and a first index-matched, pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) mounted on the front surface of the compensation film, the PSA being adhered to the rear surface of the LCD panel. The LCD also comprises a front polarizer assembly, the front polarizer assembly comprising a front polarizer, a compensation film mounted on the rear surface of the front polarizer and an index-matched PSA mounted on the front surface of the front polarizer.

A plurality of individual electronic components are mounted on both sides of the printed circuit board. Each electronic component includes an electronic component printed circuit board, a first pair of stacked memory dies electrically connected to the electronic component printed circuit board, a second pair of stacked memory dies electrically connected to the electronic component printed circuit board, and a thin small outline ball grid array package at least partially encapsulating the first and second pairs of stacked memory dies. Preferably, an insulator is disposed between each pair of stacked memory dies.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) exhibiting enhanced optical viewing performance. In a preferred embodiment, the LCD comprises a first glass substrate, a second glass substrate and an active matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCD) panel. The LCD also comprises a rear polarizer adhered to the rear of the AMLCD panel with an index-matched, pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). The LCD further comprises an indium tin oxide coating adapted for use as a heating element, the coating being applied to the front of the second glass substrate. The heating element is also adhered to the rear polarizer with a silicone-based, index-matched, optical bonding material. In addition, the LCD comprises an indium tin oxide coating usable as an electromagnetic interference (EMI) shield, the coating being applied to the rear of the first glass substrate. The EMI shield is also adhered to the front of the AMLCD panel with the above-mentioned silicone-based bonding material.
