  • Patent number: 9021254
Abstract: A security system for defending online users against fraudsters and malicious websites comprises a back-end network server and appropriate apps for each protected user device. An otherwise conventional network server is enhanced with application software instructions for a centralized software-as-a-service (SaaS) to respond to network requests from user devices operating variously under ANDROID-type, APPLE IOS-type, and MICROSOFT WINDOWS-type operating systems. The SaaS investigates, surveys, and watches websites. It calculates confidence scores related to financial fraud and the acceptability and risk to said users of visiting particular websites. It maintains a trusted network database of website URL's calculated to belong to financial websites that can be trusted and present acceptable levels of fraud and financial risk to its visitors. Each user device application provides for secure password management and access via a security browser to websites in the trusted network.

  • Patent number: 9017141
Abstract: A method for deburring a ground metal part includes loading a ground metal part into a carrier, contacting a first planar surface of the ground metal part with a first grinding wheel, and contacting a second planar surface of the ground metal part with a second grinding wheel. The first grinding wheel is rotated in a first rotational direction. The second grinding wheel is rotated also in the first rotational direction. After the first grinding wheel is rotated in the first rotational direction, the first grinding wheel is then rotated in a second rotational direction, which is opposite to the first rotational direction. After the second grinding wheel is rotated in the first rotational direction, the second grinding wheel is also rotated in the second rotational direction.

  • Publication number: 20150110789
Abstract: Certain embodiments are directed to a bispecific immunoglobulin that is capable of binding cell surface molecules on a target cell, such as cancer cells, and cell surface molecules on immune effector cell, such as cytotoxic T lymphocytes, resulting in the targeted killing of target cells. In certain aspects a Bif is a polypeptide comprising a first target binding domain that specifically binds a cancer cell, a second effector binding domain that specifically binds an immunologic effector, and an immunoglobulin constant region linker operatively coupling the first and second binding domain.

  • Patent number: 8986071
Abstract: A parts carrier assembly for a grinding machine includes an annular parts carrier and a bearing insert. The annular parts carrier includes an upper surface, a lower surface, an inner edge, an outer edge, and a plurality of loading apertures. The inner edge is configured to engage a driving wheel of the grinding machine. The driving wheel rotates about a central axis resulting in rotation of the parts carrier about an offset axis, which is offset from the central axis. The loading apertures are configured to receive parts to be ground by the grinding machine. The bearing insert includes an inner bearing surface complementary in shape to the outer edge of the parts carrier. The outer surface the parts carrier bears against the inner bearing surface of the bearing insert as the parts carrier rotates about the offset axis.

  • Patent number: 8951043
Abstract: The invention provides a method for inserting an insertion part of a two-part zirconium-like implant into the jawbone at high force without breaking in order in this way to increase the primary stability of the implant in the jawbone. This is made possible by providing an insertion part at the outside of two or more protrusions at the level of the jawbone line over which an insertion instrument with recesses fits which engages these protrusions in order to subsequently insert the insertion part into the jawbone. The sleeve-shaped insertion instrument with the recesses and the neck of the insertion part with the two or more protrusions can be shaped in such a way that they fit precisely together or that a connection resembling a cardan coupling is produced, so that the implantologist can hold the insertion instrument in various positions above the insertion part while the desired direction of insertion is still maintained.

Abstract: Provided herein are devices, systems and methods utilizing flow of a medically safe inert gas to prevent fires in operating rooms during electrosurgical procedures. A device is disposed around or proximate to or integrated into the tip of an electrosurgical instrument or tool and is in fluid contact with a source of a medically safe inert gas. The gas is flowed around or envolopes the tip as the electrosurgical instrument or tool is utilized. The presence of the medically safe inert gas displaces oxygen, thereby preventing or suppressing fires that may be ignited by sparks generated during use of the tool.

  • Patent number: 8906846
Abstract: The disclosure relates to methods for treating disorders of the mucosal tract such as the gastrointestinal system by targeting CLIP molecules. The methods are based on that CLIP in the groove of MHC class I or II molecules of the cells lining the mucosal surfaces of the body, such as the gastrointestinal tract, provides protection from MHC Class II or MHC class I mediated cell death, and therefore are useful for treating, inhibiting the development of a multitude of illnesses and conditions of the mucosal tract, including autoimmune disease.

  • Patent number: 8893906
Abstract: A closure that includes a top panel and a skirt extending downwardly from a peripheral edge of the top panel is provided. The skirt terminates in a plurality of spaced thread engagement flanges for engaging the thread of the neck of a container. The closure includes a polymer-filled channel which connects the top panel to the skirt. When engaged with the threaded neck of a container, the neck is forced into the channel and engaged by the polymer so that the channel and polymer provide lateral rigidity to the neck. This rigidity prevents the neck from deflecting from the forces resulting between the threads and thread engagement lugs when the forces therebetween are increased to the level required to adequately seal the closure to the container.

  • Patent number: 8894752
Abstract: An air dryer includes first and second flow paths. Each flow path includes a check valve that prevents fluid flow into the flow path and an exhaust valve having an open position that permits fluid flow out of the flow path and a shut position that prevents fluid flow out of the flow path. A diverter valve has a first position that provides fluid communication to the first flow path and a second position that provides fluid communication to the second flow path. An interlock operably connected to the diverter valve and the exhaust valves prevents positioning the diverter valve to the first position when the exhaust valve in the first flow path is in the open position and prevents positioning the diverter valve to the second position when the exhaust valve in the second flow path is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 8878515
Abstract: A constant current is provided to an energizing coil in a magnetic detector by charging a capacitor through a resistor from a high voltage source. Discharging of the capacitor into the energizing coil quickly increases current in the energizing coil. After the capacitor is switched off, a low voltage source maintains current constant in the energizing coil. The coil discharges its energy as a negative voltage to the capacitor. A high negative voltage source tops off the capacitor. After a delay, the capacitor discharges a negative current into the energizing coil. A negative low voltage source maintains the negative current. The negative voltage source is disconnected, and the coil discharges positive voltage into the capacitor. The high voltage source tops off the capacitor with positive voltage to repeat the cycle.

  • Patent number: 8869745
Abstract: A special bag or pad element containing Zeolite elements is placed under normal kitty litter or other animal waste containing materials. As the odor containing substances of the waste product are emitted, they are captured and eliminated by the Zeolite contained therein. It is possible to essentially eliminated cat and pet odors as well as to contain odors from barn animals. The results are amazing and the pets are healthier and the odors are gone. The waste products from this bag can be easily recycled in a garden since the contents are compatible with the soil and offer increased fertilization from the ammonium nitrate contained therein.
