Patent number: 9872549Abstract: A hair styling device comprising two hinged arms able to move relative to each other for the receiving and shaping of a strand of hair. Each arm carries a shaping plate on its side facing the other arm. These shaping surfaces making contact with the hair strand being styled. The hair being styled is pulled past these shaping surfaces. One of the two arms has a hair support on its side carrying the shaping plate. The hair support is arranged at a spacing from the shaping surface of the other arm, so that the other arm can be introduced into an arm support between the hair support and the shaping surface of the shaping plate of the arm carrying the hair support. The shaping plates of the two arms which cooperate with each other for the hair styling can move relative to each other in the manner of scissors.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2014Date of Patent: January 23, 2018Assignee: WIK Far East Ltd.Inventor: Marwin Kock

Patent number: 9433273Abstract: A method of forming curls/waves of hair with a styling device having shaping surfaces of shaping plates and a device designed to perform said method are disclosed. The hair is heated until the sulfur bonds contained in the keratin chains are extensively broken. The heated hair is pulled past several spaced-apart shaping bodies, other while in contact with them. Upon contacting the first shaping body the hair has a temperature where the sulfur bonds are extensively broken, then, before leaving the last shaping body has cooled to where the sulfur bonds have largely rejoined. The device comprises two hinged arms moving against each other, each having a shaping plate on its facing surfaces. The styling arm carries on its outer side several shaping bodies arranged at a distance from each other, from the outer termination of the housing and, extending in the longitudinal direction.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2014Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: WIK Far East Ltd.Inventor: Marwin Kock

Patent number: 8267098Abstract: A hair straightener device encompasses a straightening tool that is comb-like. The straightening tool has a row of tines that are spaced apart respectively to each other by one hair receptacle. Each tine is associated with at least one first molded part 7 that is movably mounted. It is movably supported relative to the additional tine that surrounds the hair receptacle. The straightening tool furthermore surrounds a second molded part which is associated with the additional tine that surrounds this hair receptacle. This serves the implementation of a hair shaping gap between the molded parts of a hair receptacle. The hair shaping gaps that are located between the molded parts are undercut at least in the hair shaping position of the molded parts toward one another in the direction toward the border, of the hair receptacle, that connects the tines.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2010Date of Patent: September 18, 2012Assignee: WIK Far East Ltd.Inventor: Dov Glucksman

Patent number: 8096307Abstract: A hair styling attachment for connection to a device producing an air stream, such as an air curler, has two arms connected together with an articulated joint. The facing top sides of the arms have complementary working surfaces which form a hair styling gap. At least one arm is capable of motion about the pivot axis of the joint. The arm capable of motion is connected to a control lever extension within the hair styling attachment which is located on the opposite side of the pivot axis from its working surface and at an angle to the plane of the working surface. A first drive mechanism for adjusting this arm about the pivot axis acts on the control lever extension. The first drive mechanism is driven by a rotatably mounted first drive shaft, which connects it to a rotationally mounted second drive shaft of the device.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2009Date of Patent: January 17, 2012Assignee: Wik Far East Ltd.Inventor: Klaus Hafemann

Patent number: 8091564Abstract: A volumizer attachment for connection to a device generating a stream of air, comprising a volumizer unit with hair styling fingers. A coupling section connects the volumizer attachment to the device. The volumizer unit is rotatably mounted, either in whole or in part. A rotating first drive shaft in the device connects to a rotatably mounted second drive shaft arranged inside the coupling section. The second drive shaft has a drive element on its output end, which is arranged eccentrically to the axis of rotation of the second drive shaft. The drive element engages a force converter to convert the rotational drive motion of the drive element into an oscillating rotational motion of the volumizer unit, or a part thereof. The axis of rotation of the volumizer unit, or of the part thereof, and the axis of rotation of the second drive shaft are at an angle to one another.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2009Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: WIK Far East Ltd.Inventor: Klaus Hafemann
