Patents Assigned to Wild Leitz AG
  • Patent number: 5233357
Abstract: A terrestrial surveying system comprising an electro-optic total station (1) for combined measurement of angle and distance and a connection to data storage (11) or data processing devices (20), the total station (1) and at least one portable position-measuring unit, which is separated spatially from the total station and equipped with a receiver (3) for a satellite position-measuring system, are connected to one another through a wireless data transfer device (12, 13). The data processing device is preferably set up for determining coordinates, for coordinate transformation from the satellite position-measuring system to the terrestrial coordinate system of the total station and for consistency checking of the data determined.

  • Patent number: 5134779
Abstract: A plotter having a flat-bed, a beam-shaped tool carriage having opposite ends and movable in a first coordinate direction, work stands located at each end of the tool carriage, a tool holder movable on the tool carriage in a second coordinate direction orthogonal to the first coordinate direction, controlled drive motors for the two travel movements is provided with a drive connection from the drive motor for the first coordinate direction to the tool carriage, said drive connection being provided from muliple cable strands each comprising at least four individual cables guided in parallel. The individual cables loop around drive pulleys to secure the tool carriage tightly in each work stand. Rockers pivotally mounted on each word stand and containing reverse rollers through individual cables pass through, equalize the tensile stresses of the individual cables. This results in an improved repeat accuracy of the positioning of the plotter tool.

  • Patent number: 5077557
Abstract: A surveying instrument for satellite position-measuring includes, a range finder (2), which is preferably non-contact-measuring and tiltable, combined with a satellite receiver (1) in a geometrically unambiguously defined relative position. These two instrument parts are mounted geometrically unambiguously in common plumb rod (3) or on a measurement stand. A vertical sensor (4) and a sighting device (5) are additionally provided, whereby simultaneous monitoring and setting respectively of the vertical direction and of the direction of the range finder measurement beam is permitted. Using the instrument, it is also possible to determine, in terms of coordinates, such points which formerly could not be surveyed using satellite position-measuring systems.

  • Patent number: 4974784
Abstract: A winding apparatus for winding webs of paper, textile fabric, synthetic plastic material or other similar webs into tight rolls comprising a winding chamber having an inlet opening at the top and a pair of drive rollers for frictionally driving a roll of material arranged at the bottom, substantially diametrically opposite the inlet opening. One side of the winding chamber is defined by concave surfaces of a plurality of parallel wall elements, and the other side of the winding chamber is defined by a pivotally mounted shell body. In preferred embodiments, alternate devices for fastening a wound roll with an adhesive strip are disclosed. The winding apparatus of the invention can be manufactured at reasonable cost, does not require excessive space, and functions with a high degree of reliability.

  • Patent number: 4929077
Abstract: In a range finder for measuring absolute distances, a time partially coherent light source is provided. A beam emitted by it is split into a reference beam (B), which passes along a reference path, and a testing or measuring beam (A), which can be focused onto a testpiece (4). The radiation (A') reflected by the testpiece is brought to interference with the reference beam (B). In a position-sensitive detector array, the testing and reference beam are superimposed. The coherence of the two waves is directly determined from the intensity distribution on the detector array. The distance of the test-piece is calculated from the intensity distribution on the detector. Preferably, upstream of the detector array is connected an optical grating (6) with a grating spacing at least approximately corresponding to the spacing of the interference fringes on the detector array.
