Abstract: An accumulator for withdrawing and holding lubricant under pressure and returning the same to the lubrication system of an internal combustion engine that includes a spring loaded closed pintle valve cooperating with the accumulator reservoir that is opened by energizing a solenoid in response to initiating the starting of the engine to inject lubricant back into the engine adjacent the moving parts of the engine. A check valve through a central passageway internally of the pintle valve loads the lubricant from the engine into the reservoir and maintains its pressure until the cycle is repeated.
