Abstract: A method and apparatus to automatically monitor a lubricant supply of a unit lubricated according to the principle of oil and air lubrication. The method and apparatus detect oil streaks traveling on the wall of the lubricant line by using a capacitive or opto-electronic control. The method and apparatus further utilize signals that depend on wave movements of these streaks for control purposes.
Abstract: In a central lubricating installation which is primarily intended for commercial vehicles the running time of the pump unit (2) supplying lubricant to the lubricant distributors (6, 7) is controlled as a function of the starting-current intensity, corresponding to the ambient temperature, of an electric motor (3) serving to drive the pump unit (2).
