Patents Assigned to Wilmot-Breeden Limited
  • Patent number: 4177606
Abstract: A window regulator assembly comprises a pair of pivotally interconnected window lifting arms, one of which is pivoted to a panel plate and has a toothed segment attached thereto. The segment engages a pinion driven by a handle and controlled by a clutch, and is cut from strip material by a cropping operation which simultaneously forms teeth in the trailing edge of one segment and the leading edge of the following segment.

  • Patent number: 4139998
Abstract: A lock unit or assembly for mounting on an aperture in a panel of a motor vehicle consists of a housing and a retaining sleeve which are held against relative rotation. The housing and sleeve are fitted together into the aperture and are then rotated to bring a projecting lug on the sleeve into a retaining position whereupon relative axial movement is effected between the housing and sleeve to effect resilient interengagement between cooperating formations on the housing and sleeve to hold the sleeve and housing against movement relative to each other or to the panel.

  • Patent number: 4130308
Abstract: A latch for the door of a motor vehicle has a housing consisting of front and back plates between which a plastics moulding is disposed. Two pivot pins extend between the front and back plates with a U-shaped bolt mounted on one pivot pin and a cooperating pawl mounted on the other pivot pin. The plastics moulding includes portions which cooperate with a striker to guide it into engagement with the bolt and to provide a wedging action during the final stages of relative movement between the striker and the bolt. The portion of the moulding which provides the wedging action houses an elastomeric block that serves:(a) as a noise-suppressant,(b) as a throw-out member, and(c) as a biassing element urging the bolt towards the adjacent surface of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4102588
Abstract: A moulded plastics lever is formed with a butterfly-shaped aperture part of the periphery of which is bounded by integral, resilient locating formations. The lever is mounted on a metal support element having a pressed-out tag formed with a reduced width neck portion engaged by the locating formations to hold the lever and the support element together.

  • Patent number: 4088356
Abstract: A plastics moulding, such as a lever, includes an aperture with an integral web or fin extending partially across or into the aperture. The cranked end portion of, for example, a rod is inserted into the aperture and is acted on by the web or fin which serves to restrain vibration of the rod relative to the lever.
