Abstract: An arrangement for securing access to a modular unit arranged outside a safe of a device for handling notes of value comprises a security element, which is fastened to a door of the safe, and an indicator for recording tampering with the security element connected to the safe door. The security element restricts access to the modular unit when the safe door is closed and does not restrict access when the safe door is open.
Abstract: A device for handling value documents can include a dispensing compartment for the withdrawal of value documents. The dispensing compartment is delimited by a depositing element, a delimiting element, and a closure element. The delimiting element is arranged in a first delimiting position to supply the value documents into the dispensing compartment. With a movement of the depositing element in the direction of the delimiting element, the delimiting element is moved from the first delimiting position into a second delimiting position. In order to open the dispensing compartment, the closure element is moved from the closed position into the open position, wherein an engaging element of the delimiting element engages the closure element when moving the closure element, or in the open position of the closure element, if the delimiting element is in the second delimiting position.

Abstract: A device for transporting notes of value comprises a first idler pulley mounted in the device and at least a second idler pulley mounted in the device, as well as an endless belt running around the idler pulleys, and a freely rotatable guide roller mounted in the device and having at least one connecting area for reception in a receiving opening of the device. The axis of rotation of the guide roller has in a first receiving position of the connecting area in the receiving opening a first orthogonal distance to a plane in which the axes of rotation of the idler pulleys run. The axis of rotation of the guide roller has in a second receiving position of the connecting area in the receiving opening a second orthogonal distance to the plane.
Abstract: In an example embodiment, there is disclosed herein a technique that allows the capabilities of an automated banking machine, such as an ATM, to be upgraded remotely. For example, the banking machine may be sold or leased with an initial configuration. If the customer desires to add additional features, the customer can pay for the features and the manufacturer or dealer can send a signal from a remote host to the automated banking machine with data representative of the upgrade. The banking machine then operates with the upgraded configuration.
