  • Patent number: 7555982
Abstract: A process and a device supply printing ink to and remove link from a doctor blade device of the inking system of a rotary printing press. The device has a doctor blade support provided with a linearly extending groove and with doctor blades that are contacted with an inking roller or screen roller, the blades forming together with the inking roller and the groove an inking chamber. The device has conduits and motor-driven pump devices that supply ink to and remove ink from the inking chamber. The motors are preadjusted in terms of their parameters and are not modifiable during operation. A portion of the ink from the flow of ink supplied to the doctor blade device can be diverted to an ink supply source, and/or a portion of the ink from the flow of ink removed from the doctor blade device can be returned to the ink supply conduit.

  • Patent number: 7555985
Abstract: A method for pre-registration in a printing machine with multiple printing units in which phases of the printing cylinders involved in the printing process are so mutually attuned that the deviations of the printing images of the different printing cylinders lie within mutual capture areas, includes using the deviations in the context of the registration of an ongoing printing operation, respectively, for the determination of the position of the printing images or parts thereof. The web to be printed, which is fed during the pre-registration to the printing machine, has at least one mark, which passes through different printing units during the pre-registration. The time points at which the mark passes the measuring points in the printing units are recorded, and these time points are set with reference to the angular position of the printing images of the respective printing units at those time points.

  • Patent number: 7444935
Abstract: A process for adjusting the print image of a rotating machine equipped with transfer rollers and actuators assigned to them includes changing the position of the rollers. During the printing operation, at least one camera records the intensity of light reflected from the printed material. The camera also feeds the recorded measured values to a control and regulation unit that compares the recorded measured values with set values, and generates corrective signals for the actuator of at least one part of the rollers involved in the printing process. Based on the corrective signals, the actuator of the relative position of the roller assigned to it is actuated until the measured values once again lie within a tolerance range.

  • Patent number: 7409909
Abstract: A process for replacing the printing sleeves of a printing machine includes mounting printing sleeves that are not required for the printing process in at least one storage device. The transportation of the printing sleeves necessary for replacement between the storage device and the printing machine is performed by a transportation device. The transportation device has printing sleeve retaining devices that bring the printing sleeves into a position that facilitates their replacement. The arrangement of the printing sleeves in the transportation device is determined by a processing and control unit to which set positions of the printing sleeves during the next printing job are known. The processing and control unit adjusts the arrangement of the printing sleeves such that at least one printing sleeve retaining device remains free in the transportation device.

Abstract: Equipment that lays flat films or tubular films extruded by a blown film extrusion installation has at least one roller, which guides the walls of the film or the tubular film. The lay-flat equipment has at least one device that influences the rotational speed of the roller by providing a torque that can be transferred onto the roller by a transfer device. The transfer device provides for slippage between the roller and the device that provides the torque, thereby ensuring a smooth transfer of torque and preventing damage to the film.
