    Abstract: A leakage current interrupter device for use with appliances. The device of the present invention includes a switching device having an electromagnet which is energized by a sensing circuit upon the detection of leakage current or a ground fault condition. The magnetic field generated by the electromagnet moves a lever arm to instantaneously interrupt the flow of current through the circuit to disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
