Patents Assigned to Winkler + Duennebier AG
  • Patent number: 6808061
Abstract: Products are to be discharged at a discharge station from a compartmentalized conveyor (3) having laterally open compartments (7) formed between parallel intermediate walls (5) for accommodating the laterally projecting products (1). To push plural products out of the conveyor compartments, a pushing device (12) is moved out of a starting position in a running direction parallel to the conveying direction of the conveyor (3), and simultaneously is moved in a pushing direction perpendicular to the conveying direction by means of a crank drive via a connecting rod, and then is moved back into the starting position.

  • Patent number: 6685616
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for setting up at least one holding arrangement for a workpiece in relation to format and/or for setting a tool on a tool carrier, selectable positions being provided in particular for the holding arrangement, and an adjustable control element being provided as part of an adjusting and catch arrangement with positions related to the format, by means of which the holding arrangement is adjusted and fixed relative to the tool carrier. The essence of the invention consists in the fact that at least the fixing of the adjusting and/or catch arrangement for the holding arrangement relative to the tool carrier in at least one setting position is effected magnetically.

  • Patent number: 6634403
Abstract: In an apparatus for bonding window pieces to envelope blanks having window cut-outs, window pieces are cut from a transparent material web and then the window pieces and envelope blanks are brought together by a suction roller serving as a bonding cylinder and joined to one another by adhesive applied onto the window pieces by a gluing mechanism while the window piece is on the suction roller before being joined to the envelope blank. A suction belt conveyor device is provided, at least in the region of the joining location, as a carrier for the envelope blanks and as a counter-tool for the suction roller serving as a bonding cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6591587
Abstract: Flat stacked articles 2, such as envelopes or packaging bags, and packaging blanks 5 are supplied to a packaging station 6, toward one another in offset parallel directions 4 and 15. Then, the stack 3 is moved into the packaging station 6 in an intake direction 17 transverse to the original transporting direction 4 of the articles 2 and, in the packaging station 6, is set down in the packaging blank 5. The stack 3 is then packaged in the packaging blank 5 in two processing positions 7, 8 of the packaging station 6, whereupon the packaged stack is discharged from the packaging station 6 in a discharge direction 11 parallel to the intake direction 17 and transverse to the original transporting direction 4 of the articles 2. The next respective packaging blank 5 is fed to the first processing position 7 in the direction 15 over the packaged stack 10 in the second processing position 8.

  • Patent number: 6578616
Abstract: A roll changer for splicing starting piece and end pieces of material webs to each other in an apparatus for producing hygienic products, includes carriers for web rolls, holding and guiding elements, severing elements and embossing rolls. The starting piece of a new material web can be fixed to an embossing roll. At least one embossing roll can be driven and at least one embossing roll can be moved selectively toward and away from the other embossing roll.

  • Patent number: 6569074
Abstract: In order to fold folded products having sealing flaps with or without mating flaps, such as packaging bags including envelopes with or without self-adhesive glue, the envelopes are moved against a stationary stop and the mating flaps and the sealing flaps are then turned over by suction elements arranged on a mating flap roll and on a sealing flap roll. The mating flap roll, which bears the suction element that turns the mating flaps over, has a radius that is reduced on a part of the roll's circumference that is not equipped with the suction element. The mating flap roll can be locked in such a rotational position, that a folded product not having a mating flap can be moved past this roll to the stationary stop without contacting or virtually without contacting this roll.

  • Patent number: 6530869
Abstract: In a method for the production of mailing bags, including envelopes, from material in web form, the material is processed in numerous ways and at least two separately prepared parts are transported to a joining station and there joined to one another with an adhesive. The two parts, at least one of which is already provided with the necessary adhesive, are placed one upon the other during an arcuate movement and joined to one another, in order to increase the speed of production. Particularly, at least one of the two parts (6, 7) and/or its carrier, performs an undulating movement in the region of the joining station (5).

  • Patent number: 6425227
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for the handling of individual flat articles coming out of a production machine (3). The articles may be particularly letter envelopes, which are assembled and, if needed further processed and packaged. The core of the invention resides in that initially a plurality of flat articles or letter envelopes (2, 2a) are lifted as partial stacks (8, 8a) and then are deposited at another location, and in that the partial stacks, during lifting and/or depositing (rearranging), are moved in such a way that the flat articles or letter envelopes (2, 2a) are standing, following the deposition, on the same side or edge (b) as originally or on another side or edge (a).

  • Patent number: 6220134
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotating cutting device for producing letter envelope cuts from a printed endless, moving material web. The position of the cut is pre-set by register marks printed on the web. In this process, the cutting device is fully automatically synchronized with the register marks. This is accomplished via a computer-supported controller which, via sensors, first determines the spacing between two adjacent marks, then adjusts the cutting device to the determined length of the section, and finally continually monitors the phase position between the knife and the register mark and changes the phase position by slightly accelerating or slowing down the material web until the cut and the register mark coincide.
