    Abstract: A strengthened glass block cut from a mother glass substrate is provided. The mother glass substrate is given a preliminary chemically strengthening treatment, the strengthened glass block has a preliminary strengthened surface area and a newly-born surface area, and the newly-born surface area is formed as a result of a machining or material removing treatment. A chemically strengthened layer formed as a result of a secondary chemically strengthening treatment is formed in at least the newly-born surface area.
