    Abstract: A heat bonding apparatus for manufacturing an ink-jet printhead, whereby a flexible circuit tape is heat-bonded on the an IC chip of an ink-jet printhead so that a signal from the printing apparatus can be transmitted to the IC chip of the ink-jet printhead to control the ink-jet printing operation. The heat bonding apparatus comprises a head seat; a heat bonding head seated in the head seat, the heat bonding head being movable along with the head seat to carry out a heat bonding process; and a heat bonding sheet of arc shape and in the form of an elastic metal sheet. The heat bonding sheet is deformable under pressure and one end of the heat bonding sheet is secured to the heat bonding head so that when the heat bonding sheet is pressed for heat bonding the flexible circuit tape and the IC chip, the heat bonding sheet undergoes deformation and in the mean time pushes the air away from between the flexible circuit tape and the IC chip to let them fully contact each other.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus of identifying ink stored in an ink-jet cartridge are to change the electrical property such as resistance or capacitance of the ink and to cooperate with a detector to achieve the goal of identifying ink. The method comprises: adding special additive such as salt additive or acid additive into the ink or changing the ratio of the components in the ink, and further providing a detector for detecting the electrical property of the ink and doing logical judgment to identify whether the ink stored in the ink-jet cartridge is the original factory ink or not. The preferred embodiment of the apparatus of identifying ink in ink-jet cartridge is to form the detector on the IC of the print head directly to achieve the goal stating above of detecting the electrical property of the ink stored in the ink-jet cartridge.

    Abstract: This specification discloses an electrode type print head for the printing apparatus and the method for manufacturing the same. The print head is placed in the inkjet cartridge of an inkjet-printing device. The print head comprises a substrate and a flexible nozzle plate with an ink reservoir formed in between. The flexible nozzle plate is attached onto the substrate, and the electrode set of the flexible nozzle plate corresponds to that of the substrate. When currents of different polarities are provided thereon, an absorptive force is generated to pull the flexible nozzle plate closer to the substrate. A pushing force jets the ink out of the print head and onto a printing media to achieve the goal of inkjet printing.

    Abstract: An ink-jet cartridge with a negative pressure ink reservoir includes a rigid body provided with an ejecting device; an ink reservoir provided within the rigid body, the ink reservoir including two relatively movable plates and a plate body having resilience. The plate body is provided between the two flat plates, and is sealed with the circumferences of the two flat plates to form an enclosed ink reservoir. During ink-jet printing, the pressure within the ink reservoir decreases and the two plates move closer to each other to compress the plate body and the resilience of the plate body causes a negative pressure within the ink reservoir that prevents ink leakage from the ink-jet cartridge.

    Abstract: An ink-jet cartridge for an ink-jet pen is disclosed. The cartridge includes a back pressure chamber in which the level of ink will be self-adjusted to provide ink for ejection and prevent ink from leakage. The ink-jet cartridge includes an ink reservoir for storing ink, a back pressure chamber, a print ink chamber and a print head. The back pressure chamber has one end fluid-communicated with the ink in the ink reservoir, and the other end fluid-communicated with the print ink chamber via an overflow vent which is at a position higher than the ink level of the ink reservoir.

    Abstract: The present invention provides any ink jet pen an apparatus for storing and printing ink, wherein a valve is connected between the ink reservoir and the ink chamber for controlling the ink flow between the ink reservoir and the ink chamber and adjusting the air pressure in the ink chamber to keep the pressure in the ink chamber within the allowed range as the ink gradually gets depleted or the environmental pressure changes. The valve having a plunger and a plunger chamber, wherein the plunger chamber is connected to the atmosphere via an atmospheric opening and connected to the ink chamber via a feedback opening which adjusts the pressure in the ink chamber to move the plunger. When a difference between the atmospheric pressure and inner pressure of the ink chamber develops, the plunger will be pushed by the pressure of the atmosphere or the ink chamber to determine whether the ink reservoir is connected to the ink chamber and to adjust the ink chamber inner pressure.
