Abstract: A cross-country ski binding for locking a shoe (11) on a cross-country or touring ski (12), the shoe (11) being allowed to pivot relative to an axis (13) which is normal to the longitudinal axis of the ski, in which the front end (14) of the shoe (11) is provided with pivoting means which are complementary to pivoting means of the binding (10), the binding comprising a flexor (15) acting between the front end (14) of the shoe and the binding (10) or ski (12), respectively, said flexor exerting a reaction force on the shoe (11) as the heel of the shoe is lifted off the top of the ski (12). The flexor (15) includes at least two flexor portions (16, 17), one (17) of said flexor portions being made of soft-elastic material while the other one (16) is made of hard-elastic material.
Abstract: A lateral guide device for a ski boot is disclosed which may be joined by its front end to a binding (13) with a housing (19). The bonding is fastened onto the ski such that the boot heel may be tilted upwardly relative to the ski. The device includes at least one longitudinal guide rib unit (12) cooperating with a complementary longitudinal groove at the underside of the sole of the ski boot so as to ensure a lateral guidance of the ski boot when the latter is rolled from an upwardly tilted position into a position approximately parallel to the ski. For the purpose of adaptation of the device to different shoe sizes and for facilitated assembly, the longitudinal guide rib unit (12) may be connected, with positive locking action, either directly to the binding (13) or the binding housing (19), respectively, or through a rear section (11) to a front section (10) of the longitudinal guide rib unit (12), which is preferably joined to the binding (13).
Abstract: A device for attaching a boot (5) to a ski (11), especially a cross-country racing or cross-country touring ski, comprising a locking assembly (12,12b,14) on the ski (11), which co-operates with portions of the user's footwear for the attachment thereof to the ski. For the purpose of achieving a lockable connection between the boot and the ski which secures a good side guidance as well as free and unobstructed lifting movement upwardly to a correct, limited degree, at the same time permitting an orthopedicly correct boot, such as an ordinary hiking boot to be used, the present invention discloses a novel locking assembly (12a, 12b, 14) which is provided on the ski, when can co-operate with attachment portions (6, 7) which are defined in the footwear sole surface (1) in the area of the toe portion (2') of the foot.
Abstract: A ski binding of the toe binding type having a clamping bail. The binding is intended for cooperation with a ski boot, the sole of which has edges converging in a forward direction but no laterally protruding sole rim. Instead, the boot sole has an extension in front of the upper engaged laterally by converging toe iron lugs carried by a toe iron base plate. The clamping bail is slidably mounted in slots in the toe iron lugs in a position forward of the upper and extend forwardly outside of the lugs. The forward end of the bail is mounted in a tensioning lever of the toggle type mounted forward of the toe iron lugs.
