Abstract: A system for modifying a website or interactive application, including a published database accessible via an end user data service to present the most up to date version of objects of the website, viewable and editable by at least one user, a draft database accessible via a designer data service and viewable and editable by at least one designer to store edits to the objects of the published database; a published database request handler to coordinate concurrent viewing and updating of the objects between the end user data service and the published database and a draft database request handler to coordinate concurrent viewing, editing and updating of the objects between the designer data service and the draft database and to merge edits and updates to the objects in both the published database and the draft database and to return the merged version of the objects without modifying the published database.

Abstract: A system and method for generating questionnaires as part of building a website within a website building system (WBS). The method includes gathering data from data sources internal and/or external to the WBS, analyzing the gathered data to determine what information is required to further the website building process and what of the required information is to be collected either directly or indirectly from the user via the questionnaires, dynamically producing the questionnaires and running them to receive the collected information directly or indirectly from the user, and selecting whether to integrate the collected information into the website building process or to use the collected information for further gathering, analyzing and dynamically producing.

Abstract: A webpage editor which supports user editing of webpages of a website building system includes at least one processor and a unit running on the at least one processor. The webpages have visually isolated components and overlapped components and visually obscured components. The unit includes an input method handler, a visual editor and an editor overlap handler. The input method handler receives the user selected point or region of the webpage from an input device. The visual editor changes the view of the components proximal or interacting with a user selected point or region of a webpage, from a webpage view to a webpage editing view, the webpage editing view being one of 2D, 3D or side view. The editor overlap handler adjusts the visual characteristics of the components within the webpage editing view, according to component relationships and at least one of website information, user information, object properties or activation rules.

Abstract: A website building system includes a content database storing a pool of content items to be displayed on a website being built; a view database storing a set of views which can be used to display the items, each view being a template for a section of a web page of the website; a view pool searcher to execute a search query on the view database for one or more views that match a given set of content items stored in the content database according to at least one of keywords, attributes, fields and applications of the given set and a dynamic matching and adaptation module to dynamically provide an appropriate view from among the views found by the view pool searcher for each set of content items for displaying the content items on the website, the appropriate view selected based on a priority value.

Abstract: An online website building system includes: an online database configured to store a library of website building elements for configuring a front-end of a webpage, the webpage having been built on a platform including at least common server code; and store rules for accessing code associated with the website building elements; and at least one processor configured to enable the user to edit code associated with a webpage, and to provide a programmable event for activating the resultant user-editable code, wherein the user-editable code is configured to provide dynamic customized back-end functionality associated with the webpage; store the edited user-editable code in a code storage system in communication with the online database; receive a request to access the webpage, and in response to the request and before the request times out, provide access to a virtualized execution instance comprising at least the common server code and the edited user-editable code.

Abstract: A tool to enable a search-engine optimized website within a WBS (website building system) The tool includes at a database storing WBS component compositions and SEO (search engine optimization) information drawn from sources internal and external to the WBS relating to the component compositions having at least one of: design and content; an analyzer to gather and analyze the SEO information for the WBS component compositions and to provide an SEO ranking for them; an editor to enable a designer of a website using the WBS to create and edit a website page using at least one user selected component composition from the WBS component compositions and a recommender to receive the at least one user selected component composition and to compare it with the results of the analyzer and to recommend to the designer, search engine friendly recommendations for improved website optimization based on the SEO ranking.

Abstract: A website building system (WBS) includes a processor implementing a machine learning feedback-based proposal module and a database storing at least the websites of a plurality of users of the WBS, and components of the websites. The module includes a plurality of per activity AI units and a feedback system. Each per activity AI unit supports one or more specific activity related to the WBS and provides at least one system suggestion to the users related to its specific activity. Each per activity AI unit includes at least one machine learning model suitable for the activity supported by its per activity AI unit. The feedback system provides a plurality of different kinds of feedback from the users for updating the machine learning models. The feedback system analyzes the feedback to determine which one of the at least one machine learning models to update.

Abstract: An application generating website building system (AGWBS) converts a website to an application which operates on a mobile device. The system includes a website building system (WBS) to enable a user to build a website, and to host the website, a database to store website data that includes at least a structure of the website, an application generator repository to store at least several per-vertical base apps, where each per-vertical base app is a template app for one type of business, and an application generator to determine the website type of business, to generate an initial extended application content file (XACF) at least from an associated per-vertical base app for the type of business, to analyze the structure of the website to generate a graph of elements of the website and to use the graph to modify the associated per-vertical base app into an XACF defining the mobile application.

Abstract: A device and method for a website building system that has a component based version comparer to compare at least two versions of a website page which has components defined in a set of hierarchies. The components can be a visual component, a container and a non-visual site element. The device generates a difference tree representing the differences in the components between two versions of the website page using the version comparer to preprocess the components in a version of a website page to determine internal geometric and semantic relationships before comparing the components and the relationships between the two versions using semantic and geometrical analysis. The device also includes a version merger to create an integrated version of the two versions of the website page according to the difference tree.
