Abstract: A system and method for reducing loss for retail stores is provided. In one aspect, the system prevents loss caused by fraudulent returns. In another aspect, the system prevents loss by increasing worker efficiency. The system generally comprises a computing entity having a user interface, a processor operably connected to said computing entity, a scanning device operably connected to the processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon. The system generates return actions, which may instruct a user whether or not to process a return.
