Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using video/still images captured by continuously recording optical sensors mounted on waste collection vehicles used in in the waste collection, disposal and recycling industry for operational and customer service related purposes. Optical sensors are integrated into the in-cab monitor as well as the onboard computer, digital video recorder and other external devices.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using video/still images captured by continuously recording optical sensors mounted on waste collection vehicles used in in the waste collection, disposal and recycling industry for operational and customer service related purposes. A system is provided for auditing the fill status of a customer waste container by a waste services provider and right sizing the container during performance of a waste service activity.
Abstract: An object detection, tracking and alert system for use in connection with a waste collection vehicle is provided. The system can determine if an external moving object in the surrounding environment of the waste collection vehicle, such as another vehicle or a bicycle, is moving directly towards the waste collection vehicle, and then send one or more alerts to the driver and/or riders on the waste collection vehicle as well as any other waste collection vehicles in the surrounding area.
Abstract: A system and method for remote monitoring and control of landfill and recycling operations provide an intelligent centralized platform for remote, real-time industrial data gathering and process control for management of landfill and recycling operations such as leachate, gas, water and other liquids. The system and method can directly upload machine data (such as liquid volumes, flows, level, equipment runtime, sorter data, status, etc) into a centralized platform. This data can be used for analytics and automation of processes and equipment control.
Abstract: A process and system for producing an engineered fuel product that meets customer specifications for composition and combustion characteristics is provided. The engineered fuel product is preferably a high-BTU, alternative fuel that burns cleaner than coal or petroleum coke (petcoke) and has significantly reduced NOx, SO2 and GHG emissions.
Abstract: A system and method for processing sewage sludge using pyrolysis to eliminate and/or significantly reduce organic chemical compounds, including plastics, and to produce a biochar product that is safe for beneficial uses is provided. The system and method can utilize pyrolysis to treat sewage sludge which dramatically reduces or eliminates regulated and unregulated synthetic organic chemical compounds in the resultant biochar.
Abstract: A system and method for optimizing waste or recycling routes for one or more service vehicles are disclosed. Service providers can determine optimal sets of routes for a fleet of vehicles to traverse in order to service customers more quickly and efficiently. Unique route shapes can be utilized to minimize route overlapping and route balancing can be utilized to produce routes with more manageable daily workloads.
Abstract: A system and method including a control/monitoring unit that is either integrated with or exterior-mounted on a waste compactor are provided. The unit can have control functionality, monitoring functionality, or both control and monitoring functionality with respect to the waste compactor. The unit can also include a remote on/off control feature which gives a user the ability to remote start/stop the waste compactor and render it operable/inoperable from another remote location.
Abstract: A system and method for vehicle drive path analysis for a waste/recycling service vehicle are provided. The system and method can enable identifying of the customers and/or container locations for waste and recycling collection routes using vehicle drive path analysis and parcel data analysis. Some non-limiting properties that can be derived from the analysis include the customer location, address of customers, and/or the locations of containers at the customer location.
Abstract: Various illustrative embodiments of a system and process for recovering high-quality biomethane and carbon dioxide product streams from biogas sources and utilizing or sequestering the product streams are provided. The system and process synergistically yield a biomethane product which meets gas pipeline quality specifications and a carbon dioxide product of a quality and form that allows for its transport and sequestration or utilization and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The system and process result in improved access to gas pipelines for products, an improvement in the carbon intensity rating of the methane fuel, and improvements in generation of credits related to reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases.
