  • Alitame stability using hydrogenated starch hydrolysate syrups

    Abstract: A comestible containing sweetening amounts of Alitame is disclosed, into which is incorporated an effective amount of hydrogenated starch hydrolysate syrup, and/or from which is excluded glycerine, to stabilize the Alitame against decomposition during storage such that after storage at 85.degree. F. for eight weeks, at least 40% of the originally present Alitame has not degraded into non-sweetening decomposition products.
