  • Patent number: 9123211
Abstract: A gaming system includes one or more input devices, one or more display devices, one or more processors, and one or more memory devices storing instructions. When executed by the one or more processors, the instructions cause the gaming system to receive, via at least one of the input devices, an input indicative of a wager selected from at least one wager amount being a function of a previous wager associated with an immediately preceding wagering game. The instructions cause the gaming system to display a wagering game on the one or more displays, the wagering game being in an advantageous state relative to the immediately preceding wagering game. The instructions further cause the gaming system to display an outcome of the wagering game on the one or more displays, at least a portion of the outcome being enhanced by an outcome of the immediately preceding wagering game.

  • Patent number: 9098972
Abstract: An electronic gaming machine (EGM) may use a temporary network to perform configuration updates upon determining that a maintenance mode is active and that normal gaming operation is suspended. The temporary network may use cryptographically paired wireless devices that prevent man-in-the-middle attacks or eavesdropping. Alternatively, the temporary network may use an existing network that is utilized during normal gaming operation for accessories and/or loyalty data. Once the temporary, or ad hoc, network is established, a host electronic gaming machine or a standalone device may be used as a repository from which configuration information may be propagated to other electronic gaming machines, even if the other electronic gaming machines have a different games or configurations from that of the host. This capability may be particularly helpful in jurisdictions where EGM networking is prohibited during game play operation.

  • Patent number: 9086732
Abstract: “Fusion” gestures that transition from air to surface or surface to air and interactions with graphical objects displayed on one or more display devices. Surface-to-air gestures are captured on a surface of a touch-based sensing device, and the gesture leaves the surface and enters a volumetric space adjacent to the surface, where a 3D gesture sensing system captures the gesture in 3D space. One or more objects displayed on the display device(s) are graphically shown to be manipulated by the gesture. Air-to-surface gestures are captured in the reverse manner. Different devices housed in separate housings can detect the different types of gestures. For example, a gaming terminal can detect surface gestures made on a single- or multi-touch sensitive surface while a portable electronic device in communication with the gaming terminal can detect air gestures made in a volumetric space in front of the gaming terminal.
